Modern fashion designers are not asleep, but constantly delight us with their new creations. In all the variety of models, it’s time to get confused. However, we all know the main types of clothing.
Dresses
This is what distinguishes any woman from a man. Dresses have many varieties and styles:
- Evening. Typically, such models are distinguished by deep neckline, open shoulders (or even the absence of sleeves) and backs.
- Cocktail Dresses. Quite universal models. They can be either closed or quite frank, of a strict style or decorated with all kinds of ruffles and draperies.
- Wedding Dress. No comments here. Elegant clothes for the appropriate celebration.
- Ethnic (or exotic) dress. Any model in the style of a particular country. For example, a kimono dress, which we borrowed from Japanese women. Or everyone’s favorite tunic recently.
Knitwear
Among these products, the following can be distinguished:
1. Bolero. Plain short vest. It can be sewn from both denim and organza. Often there are knitted patterns.
2. Turtleneck. Slim knitted sweater that fits the body. Mandatory presence of a collar, usually turning away. It has other names - badlon, golf.
3. Cardigan. Its feature is a round neckline instead of a collar. This element of the wardrobe is perfect for both business and romantic style.
4. Cardigan. Knitted clothes with button closure. It features a deep neckline.
Skirts
The skirt is also the prerogative of women. True, in some countries, men borrowed it from us. But the style of men's skirts is completely different. This element of women's clothing is represented by a wide range of models - narrow and wide, mini and maxi, skirts and pleated, wraparound, pencil skirts and a huge variety of styles.
The clothes of our supermen
Types of men's clothing are not so numerous. Generally they say that a real man’s robe is a suit - two or three. This statement is only half true. After all, there are also evening dresses - tuxedos and tailcoats. And sportswear - sweatshirts, jumpers, t-shirts? Another thing is that enterprising women borrowed everything that is possible from the men's wardrobe. As a result of this, a unisex style appeared.
I would like to note such a men's wardrobe item as a blazer. Recently, he is often called a club jacket. This is not entirely correct, because the concept of "clubwear" is quite broad. Nevertheless, you can put on such an outfit to the club. The main difference between these clothes is patch pockets and buttons made of metal. This is a fairly democratic option. It can be worn with both trousers and jeans.
Purely men's clothing can also include a tunic. Of course, this is a uniform product, but it is often worn in everyday life. It differs from a usual jacket with varieties of a collar. The tunic can have both a turn-down and a stand-up collar with a single-breasted blind fastener.
Types of outerwear
Outerwear is represented by almost identical products, both for men and women. Usually only sizes and styles differ. At us they are different. That is why, looking at the product, we immediately understand: this is a female model or a male one.
All outerwear can be divided into the following categories:
- Coat. In men, they are usually of a direct silhouette. But for women there is a real expanse: fitted models, trapezoidal, semi-adjacent, etc.
- Down jackets. In other words, quilted jackets. Female models usually have a fur trimmed hood and are distinguished by an abundance of fittings.
- Raincoats. In fact, the same coats, only lightweight and made of waterproof fabric.
- Jackets Made of different materials and with different accessories - buttons, buttons, locks, straps. Female models often have a decorative finish.
- Windbreakers. Lightweight jackets made of thick fabric with a quilted lining.
Functional types of clothing
Along with the general division of clothing into types, there is a classification based on the functional features of the products. The following varieties of wardrobe items are usually distinguished:
- Casual wear. Designed to be worn everyday. It can be t-shirts, skirts, dresses, shorts, trousers. It is sewn from high-quality, comfortable fabrics and is distinguished by the absence or minimal amount of decorative elements. This variety includes home and work clothes.
- Holiday outfits. A little black dress to exit just from this category. These models are bright, extravagant, decorated with beads, lace, ruffles, bugles, sequins. In other words, they have more brilliance, more sophistication. But weekend clothes are not always distinguished by an abundance of jewelry. Strict, elegant models look quite elegant.
