How to install sockets in the kitchen

Repair in the kitchen makes it possible to qualitatively change the living conditions of the whole family, especially the hostess of the house. A lot of home appliances come to the aid of a woman, which must be correctly installed and connected. You need to think carefully about where the equipment will stand, and how to arrange the sockets in the kitchen.

Unfortunately, most residential buildings, especially old buildings, do not have an internal electrical network that can guarantee the safety and uninterrupted operation of household appliances. During repairs, as a rule, a complete replacement of the wiring is carried out.

For a high-quality result of electrical work, it is necessary, first of all, to take three important steps:

- decide which equipment you will connect in the kitchen;

- contact the furniture designers to create a kitchen set project taking into account the location and parameters of all the equipment built into the furniture;

- entrust the electrical work to a professional electrician by providing him with a kitchen project developed by furniture designers and expressing your wishes regarding sockets that will be designed for small electrical appliances: a kettle, coffee maker, food processor, etc. It is important to get a diagram of your wiring in the kitchen from an electrician .

And you can even photograph the work done so that when installing kitchen furniture not to damage it.

It is important for the owner himself to at least orient himself in what the electrician should do so that the wiring in the kitchen is safe and convenient, and also meets the basic international standards.

Now you can already determine which sockets in the kitchen you need to install, calculate their number.

For equipment that is constantly connected to the network, it is necessary to put sockets with grounding, for each device separately. We consider: refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, stove, washing machine - 5 units. As a rule, these sockets in the kitchen are located no higher than 20 cm from the floor so that they are not visible.

For hoods, this appliance is placed above the kitchen furniture or in a cabinet that covers the corrugated pipe from the hood.

For the electrical appliances that we use on the work surface (mixer, coffee maker, etc.), it is enough to install 3-4 outlets in the kitchen at a distance of 90-100 cm from the floor. In total, it is appropriate to place about 10 in the kitchen.

It is best to divide the electrical wiring in the kitchen into separate branches:

- lighting;

- a group of outlets with grounding;

- without grounding - for small equipment.

All branches are connected to residual current circuit breakers, which increase the degree of safety of using household appliances and allow, if necessary, disconnecting only one branch from the mains, and not the entire apartment. Installing outlets in the kitchen does not tolerate ignorance and neglect of safety rules.

There are several β€œimpossible” things that you should always remember:

- Do not place outlets in the kitchen very close to an open fire and a sink;

- Do not install them in places with drawers ;

- Do not place these devices behind appliances built into the kitchen furniture.
