Interestingly, in the Soviet period, Novodevichy Pond was inhabited by a fairly large number of fish:

- roach.
You could also observe a huge number of cancers. However, fishing was forbidden in those days, the police watched this. Nevertheless, the children still managed to catch some trophy, no fines were provided.
The small pond was cleaned in the 70s, after which its depth became significantly less. In the 90s, Nikita Mikhalkov made the film “The Siberian Barber” here, after which all the fish in this pond died. Apparently, some poisonous substances from pyrotechnics got into the water.
Recently, the Novodevichy Pond began to please fishermen with a rotan and a verkhovka. Some kind of variety began to attract new lovers to cast a fishing rod. Networks are, of course, not accepted here. But it’s always a wonderful time to spend, even in dreary autumn weather.
