Recently, fur vests have won incredible popularity among representatives of the beautiful half of humanity . These elegant, beautiful and warm products perfectly emphasize individuality and help create a very seductive look.
A fur vest is combined with various wardrobe items, especially since such a thing is combined with almost any clothing. Of course, many people prefer to buy such stylish gizmos in stores, but a do-it-yourself fur vest can become a truly exclusive thing and decorate any womanβs wardrobe. And most importantly - a similar model can not be seen on someone else, but is this not the main thing for a real fashionista?
Do-it-yourself fur vest can be made in several ways. For the first method, you will need an old vest, fur and sewing accessories.
The most affordable way to sew an exclusive little thing is to take the finished product and sheathe it with fur (even a denim vest for men of a suitable size will fit). To determine if there is enough fur for sewing a vest, you need to lay out the fur pieces along the entire length of the product and only after that start sewing them, starting from the bottom of the vest.
Stripes of fur should be sewn at a distance of two centimeters from each other; so you need to sheathe the entire product. In order for a fur vest sewn with your own hands to look beautiful and neat, you need to sew fur with a thick and lush pile around the edges of the product.
On the shoulders of the strips of fur are connected, so first you need to sew two strips together, and only then sew them to the shoulder areas of the product.
The second method involves taking measurements and designing a pattern. For those who doubt their abilities, you can try to sew a vest made of faux fur and only then practice with natural material.
To sew a vest, you will need approximately 75 cm of faux fur and one meter of lining fabric. If you opt for fur with a soft and smooth pile, the process of sewing and assembling the product will be quick and easy. When cutting parts, you must certainly take into account the direction of the pile - it must always look down. Do-it-yourself fur vest should be done as accurately as possible, otherwise after assembly of parts all the flaws will be visible and, apart from frustration, will bring nothing.
First you need to take all the necessary measurements - the circumference of the chest, waist and hips. You should also measure the length of the future product. Now you can begin to design patterns. First you need to draw a rectangle on paper, the width of which should be equal to the circumference of the chest, and the length should correspond to the length of the product. It is also necessary to add two centimeters to the seams. The rectangle should be cut and folded in half.
Now you need to put 75 cm down - this will be the middle of the back and shelves. From the top point you need to measure another 6.5 cm - the neckline on the back. The neckline should be marked with a smooth line and 12-14 cm should be drawn with a straight line at an angle - this will be the shoulder seam.
From the edge of the shoulder suture, lay the vertical down about 22 cm, then 4 cm to the right and now round off in the form of an armhole. The connection of the shoulder seam and the waist line forms a cutout of the front of the product. After applying to the pattern all the necessary drawings, it can be cut out and transferred to the wrong side of the fur. The same should be done with the lining material.
Fur and fabric parts must be joined together. This can be done with a sewing machine. The back should be connected to the shoulder seams of the shelves and the finished product is turned to the front side through the unstitched neck opening. The neckline must be sewn by hand with neat, hidden stitches.
Of course, you can buy a finished product, since many shops offer inexpensive vests today, however, having sewed the vest yourself, you can get a truly exclusive product that perfectly emphasizes the ownerβs style and personality.
