Verkhnevilyuysky ulus is an administrative-territorial unit of Yakutia, located in the Republic of Sakha. The main industry of the region is agriculture. In the ulus, you can see various cultural and historical objects, which is an important factor for the development of educational tourism.

Verkhnevilyuysky ulus in Yakutia covers an area of ββmore than 43,000 square kilometers. It is located on the Vilyui River in the permafrost region.
The climate of the ulus is quite severe. In winter, the temperature can drop to sixty degrees below zero, and in summer it reaches thirty-three degrees of heat. The main area is occupied by forests, meadows are less common. The administrative center is the village of Verkhnevilyuysk. The ulus includes twenty-nine settlements.
The fauna of this area is represented by species inherent in the taiga zone. This lynx, wolf, muskrat, bear, elk, reindeer, sable, roe deer. The main representative of the plant world is Gmelin larch. Pines and spruces also prevail here, birches are less common.
Economics and culture
On the territory of the Verkhnevilyuysky ulus there are parts of mining zones: oil, coal, diamonds and gold. It also has well-developed meat and dairy farming and breeding of fur-bearing animals. On the territory of the ulus, crops, potatoes and vegetables are grown. Hunting and fishing are developed. In industry, the woodworking industry can be distinguished.
This small area is one of the main suppliers of the intellectual elite. Graduates of the gymnasium named after the national teacher of the USSR M. A. Alekseev today work not only in Yakutia and Russia, but also in many countries of the world.
The ulus organized 145 clubs and associations of interests. Folk groups successfully represent their small homeland at various festivals.
