Making leggings 42 cm long
To work, you will need 150 grams of mixed yarn with a thickness of 250 m / 100 grams (30-50% wool, the rest is acrylic or cotton) and knitting needles No. 3-4. The density of knitting will be 22 loops per 10 cm.
On flat or circular knitting needles, dial 68 loops. Knitting is performed as follows:
- Two front loops, two purl for each circular row.
- When working with straight knitting needles, the sequence for each front row is similar. In the wrong row, all the loops are knitted according to the pattern.
So, with a 2x2 elastic band, you should knit 7 cm of fabric, then you need to go to the front surface and thus perform another 28 cm.
Seven centimeters of elastic completes knitting. At the last stage, all loops are freely closed, knitted leg warmers are washed and dried with knitting needles. An exception is the execution of a cut for the heel:
- At a height of 5 cm from the start of work, divide the number of loops in half and mark with markers.
- The part of the row that is designed to accommodate the hole should be tied with a contrasting thread. The rest of the fabric is knitted according to the pattern with the main thread.
- At the end of the work, the colored thread introduced is carefully pulled out, while transferring the loops to two knitting needles.
- The resulting loops are closed in any convenient way (knitting or crocheting).
Such leggings also look very good in openwork.
Knitting needles: diagrams and description for beginners
The most fascinating can be called knitting short leg cuffs, designed for use with shoes with high shafts. Most often, such accessories are worn with rubber boots. Such leggings effectively warm the legs, preventing moisture from penetrating the wide upper edge of the boots.
Short leggings can be connected in just a few hours, which makes them also a great idea for a presentation.
The yarn is exclusively woolen (or with a high content of warm natural fibers).
Knitting can be done as follows:
- Type on the needles from 15 to 20 loops (depending on the thickness of the thread).
- Knit according to the scheme a strip equal to the circumference of the leg in the widest place.
- Sew the finished fabric with a knit seam.
An option for manufacturing leg warmers in circular rows is also possible. In this case, you should reduce the description of knitting long leggings to the desired number of rows (about 15 cm).
