On the question of the size of the garage, almost every car enthusiast is like the hero of the famous story: “Doctor, give a pill for greed and more.” The dream of having a "bigger" garage is understandable, because, as experience shows, for a man, a garage is not just a "bedroom for a car." This is a workshop, a warehouse, and a communication club, and what to hide is the place of gatherings for three. Therefore, thoughts are overwhelming, what size of the garage will be appropriate for such a multifunctional purpose?
Of course, if it is planned to build a shelter for the car in the cooperative sector, the flight of a dream will have to be limited by standard standards. As you know, the standard size of the garage is a minimum in all respects: no amenities, no comfort, no men's club. When calculating such a garage, only the size of the car and the half-meter protective zone around it, determined by the distance to the walls, are taken into account. Thus, the minimum permissible sizes of the garage are obtained, as a rule, it is installed in building cooperatives 3x6x2.2 m. It is possible to use such a room to store a car, but the garage does not have any additional functions, and you will have to call into it with caution: no matter how scratch the sides of the machine.

The size of the garage, which is erected far from the watchful eye of cooperative rule, can correspond to any dream of the owner and is limited only by the size of the plot and financial capabilities. The happy owner of such a storage for the car is only concerned that these opportunities coincide with his desires.
By increasing the size of the garage, you can always assign functions to it and other utility rooms: to store garden equipment and old rubbish (it isn’t possible to throw out your hand), arrange a real workshop with a workbench and racks, a storage room for preserving. You can organize a comfortable relaxation area: a TV, a sofa and the same table for three, most importantly, do not forget to leave a place for a car.
Or for two, if you need a garage for two cars. In this case, the dimensions will have to be increased by one more place for a car. It is difficult to name the exact dimensions of such a structure; they really depend on the owner’s desire: either to fill the garage with all kinds of functions, or to limit oneself to storing a couple of cars in it, and do maintenance at the service station. In the latter case, the size of the garage should provide a place for two cars, and even free movement around the owner’s car with the largest build.
Any garage needs to be properly designed from the beginning, foreseeing free access to any functional area and not forgetting to look into the distant future. What if in a few years, instead of the current modest Lada, a jeep of the appropriate size will burst into it? Do not rebuild the same garage?
