At the end of the 20th century, in response to the complicated environmental situation in the world, several new styles in the design of architecture and clothing arose. They called for the use of natural materials, for simplicity and naturalness in everything, and for approaching nature. One of these areas was the style of country.
Simplicity and sophistication
This style arose in the 70s of the last century, when designers drew attention to the lifestyle of people from the American province with its usual simplicity and sophistication at the same time. Having appeared in America, this trend in fashion has spread throughout the world. However, armed with the basic elements of this style, the designers of each individual country added their own details to it, using the folklore of their area, their ethnic bias. Therefore, the Greek country is very simple, but German is heavy, the Slavic one is distinguished by painting and stained glass.
Interior Design
Country style has a role model. This is nature that does not like piling up and chaos. Therefore, the space of the room in which it is embodied should not contain anything superfluous, and its filling may include only natural materials. Wood is the most used material in the interior. Stone and cork are also used for interior decoration, and as additions - wicker mats and wool rugs. Country style curtains are made of cotton or linen in simple colors: checkered, small flower or striped.
This trendy trend now has all the advantages of a rural way - simplicity, unpretentiousness and proximity to nature. Even the term "country" in translation from English means "village". Modern cottages drowning in flower beds and greenery are considered classics of this style, the interior decoration of which corresponds to the national traditions of the country. The Slavs, for example, always decorated their homes with handmade products, such as antique utensils, all kinds of napkins and tablecloths, embroidered and knitted, pillows on sofas, bedspreads, curtains. In country style, all this is organically combined with a fireplace, carved wooden furniture and dishes decorated with floral ornaments.
Colors of nature
This fashion trend is characterized by natural colors and in the same combinations in which they manifest themselves in nature. By analogy with shades of earth and sky, the colors of the country style are blue and brown. Therefore, the most popular products of this style are leather jackets and jeans.
Women's clothing
The main feature of the country style in women's clothing is the contrasts of the elements used. For example, coarse shoes and lace, denim and ruffles are perfectly combined here. But in order to realize this trend, one needs to have a certain taste and have a sense of proportion so that the result is both simple and sophisticated.
The second feature of the style is the convenience of things, their practicality. It uses cowboy boots with low heels, large bags and simple fabrics that are easy to care for. All ensembles of women's clothing in this case can be reduced to two images:
- set with jeans;
- dress in country style.
Moreover, additions in both cases can be exactly the same, it is with their help that a unique image is created.
Jeans set
In such clothes, the girl looks like a cowboy. A light t-shirt or men's plaid shirt, as well as a fringed leather vest, represent a classic look. To emphasize the country style in clothes, details help, for example, a leather belt and accessories made of metal or wood. At the end, the outfit can be supplemented with a wide-brimmed cowboy hat.
A variety of this style is the image with shorts, which in some cases are made from old jeans. Additions to it are usually used the same as in the previous set.

The country style in a man’s clothing emphasizes his masculinity, strength, endurance and courage. Elements of the costume are made of natural fabrics with a long wear period, which are designed for difficult operating conditions. These are leather, suede and denim. Lightweight materials such as cotton and linen are used for sewing shirts. From the drawings in this case, tissue in a cage is very popular.
Country-style trousers for men’s clothing are made of leather and velveteen, but jeans are now more commonly used. They are perfectly complemented by leather or suede jackets with and without fringe, with lacing and metal accessories.
In men's clothing of this style, one of the important elements is the vest. It can be made of leather, suede, velveteen or denim with leather or metal buttons. Shirts are welcome with a checkered pattern. An important addition is a wide-brimmed cowboy hat, also made of natural materials, with holes for air, as well as boots with a pointed toe.
There are few accessories in men's clothing. Firstly, it is a leather belt with elements of ethnic pattern. And secondly, this is the previously mentioned neck scarf. After all, a cowboy needs it, on the one hand, to protect it from cold and dust, and on the other hand, as a material that can wipe sweat in the heat. In addition to them, pendants and bracelets made of leather, bone or silver are used.
Having considered the country style in clothes for women and men, as well as the corresponding interior, we can say that this is a life style with its own philosophy, which returns us to our origins, showing the beauty of ordinary things. It is distinguished by convenience and versatility, simplicity and sophistication, nostalgia and charm.
