How to sew a skirt to the floor with an elastic band and what is needed for this? First, you will need fabric, thread, elastic and a sewing machine. Secondly, desire. It would seem that it could be easier, just take a piece of fabric, make one seam, sew an elastic band on top. This option is very simple, requiring neither time nor skills. But as always there is a “but” - such a skirt is suitable only for thin people, but if you are the owner of magnificent forms, then a beautiful fit with such a cut cannot be achieved. So the question arises: " How to sew a skirt on the floor with an elastic band or with an original belt so that it looks harmoniously on a chubby or figured girl?" To answer this question, consider a couple of options for cutting long skirts that are easy to sew and fit evenly on any figure.
Option 1 - sun skirt
Someone may object, saying that the skirt-sun will not look at a full lady, and therefore you should not risk it and spend a lot of money on two lengths of fabric. But if you sew a sun skirt on an elastic band of the finest chiffon with the same thin, but not luminous lining, and the length of the lining is mini, probably many will like this option. For such a skirt, two semicircles of thin chiffon and two semicircles of soft lining fabric are cut out . Option 2 - a straight skirt on the floor
How to sew a skirt on the floor with a straight-cut elastic is already mentioned above. But if you are not the owner of a thin figure, then it is better to cut out two details of the skirt, with slightly slanted sections up, in other words, in the form of a trapezoid, with only a slight slope. This is done in order to remove excess folds near the gum. Further, the sewing process is the same as in the first version: seams and strap.
