Christmas deer as a symbol of the New Year came to us from America. After all, it is there that Santa Claus rides on a sled pulled by reindeers. This animal is so loved that it is often used in New Year's patterns on clothes, napkins, toys and so on. We suggest you learn how to make a Christmas deer in several ways.
Craft from wood
Such a Christmas deer is made from ordinary branches and logs that can be found in the forest. From tools and auxiliary materials you will need a saw, a drill, mounting glue, a red ball. For the manufacture of the body, you need to take a large log, one smaller log (for the head), four identical branches (for the legs) and another one (for the neck), a cone, thin branches to make horns.
Instruction:
- Prepare all the details. To do this, cut off all the logs and branches to the desired length with a saw.
- Using a drill, make four leg holes in the thickest log.
- Lightly sharpen the leg branches on one side.
- Pour glue into the holes of the body and insert the branches-legs.
- Make a hole in the trunk on the other side and on the log-head for the neck and insert the corresponding branch in the same way as the legs.
- Glue the bump to the tail.
- Make small holes in the head and insert the twig-horns.
- Glue a red ball to the head in place of the nose.
You can decorate a deer with a red scarf tied around the neck.
Fabric Craft
If you have some unnecessary scraps of fabric, then do not rush to throw them away. From them you can make a cute Christmas deer. Depending on the size of the fabric, you may get a toy for a child, a Christmas tree decoration or room decor (for example, for a window sill).
So, cut out the silhouette of a deer from paper. Then chop together two pieces of fabric with the front side inwards. Attach a pattern and circle it. Cut the workpiece from the fabric, stepping back from the contour of a half centimeter. Sew the two parts together or glue them with a glue gun, leaving a small hole. Turn out the toy and fill it with synthetic winterizer, cotton or any other filler. Sew or seal the hole.
Sew an eye button on the finished toy, embroider your mouth and nose. If you plan to hang a Christmas deer on a Christmas tree, then attach a ribbon.
Deer Pillows
An interesting option for New Year's decor is to decorate decorative pillows with deer silhouettes. To do this, you can use old pillowcases, or you can sew new ones.
Just take two identical shreds of fabric, which in size will correspond to the parameters of the pillow. Sew them together on three sides, and attach a snake on the fourth. Draw a deer silhouette on paper. It can be both the outline of the whole animal, and its portrait. Then cut out the pattern and attach it to a piece of fabric that differs in color from the pillowcase.
Glue the part to the cover or sew it with interesting stitches. To decorate the silhouette, you can use ribbons (stick to the neck), buttons or rhinestones (make eyes and nose) and other accessories.
Take the plastic
From such a wonderful material as plastic, you can make a lot of New Year's crafts. You can buy color or white, and then decorate it yourself. From the tools you will need to take a pencil or a special stick with a tip. This simple set will allow you to make such a craft as a Christmas deer, with your own hands.
Master Class:
- Take a small piece of brown plastic and roll the ball first, and then shape the pear.
- Make small indentations for the eyes. If there are no special tools, then use a match.
- Make a small oval from the beige plastic and attach it under the notches for the eyes.
- Make two small black circles and insert into the eye sockets.
- Make a small red circle and put it in place of the nose.
- Make a pear-like detail that will be one and a half times the size of the head.
- Connect the body and head.

- Allow the figurine to dry or dry it in the oven.
Paper christmas deer
The easiest way is to make paper deer. Take a cardboard or kraft paper and cut out the silhouette of the animal. Then take the red button, strassik or bead and stick it in place of the nose. Tie a small bell around your neck, which you can buy in the store for creativity. From above, make a hole with an awl and thread a decorative rope or ribbon.
