Who is a lady? The question is complex. This word is now used in Russian quite rarely, and the British, from whom, in fact, this noun came from, can still refer to both a young girl and an older person. Especially often mothers call their daughters "young lady" when they want to show them how angry they are for some kind of misconduct.

This word is also used in the address "ladies and gentlemen" in solemn occasions, and when the conversation is about a business woman, the word "business woman" is often used, because the definition of "business woman" for some reason did not take root. Car enthusiasts can be called "avtoledi", if in some case it is important to indicate their belonging to the fair sex.

And yet, who is this lady? How is she different from other women? Previously, this title was held by a woman married to the Lord. Now, when such a title as “Lord” does not exist outside the UK, it is impossible to name someone “lady” in this sense. Nevertheless, this word has acquired a new meaning. Ladies began to call respectable and well-mannered women and girls, and girls more often. Modern girls have deduced several basic rules, observing which you can call yourself a real modern lady.

1. Lady never goes to extremes. She's flawless
   
   following etiquette. She dresses stylishly without using either too short or too frank things in her closet. Nevertheless, she always looks very feminine.
2. The lady does not preen and does not put herself in order in public. She does not chew gum in public, does not swear. Like the Queen of Great Britain, when a lady is unhappy, she smiles.
3. She is distinguished by refined manners, smooth and graceful gait. Nevertheless, she is never late, because she knows how to correctly calculate her time, and also remembers that accuracy is the politeness of kings.
4. The real lady is distinguished by impeccable politeness, she does not stoop to
   
   rudeness. She is restrained, joy also expresses not too violently.
5. The lady lives within her means, but does not save on shoes. For her, there is nothing worse than trampled, old and unpresentable shoes.
6. Never in her toilet or behavior will a lady allow such things as piercings, tattoos, makeup, surgical breast augmentation, excessive drinking.

So who is a lady who can be called that? It is probably difficult to find such outside the jurisdiction of the Queen of England . The generally accepted model of this lady for all those who want it to become not only externally, but also internally, is the Princess Diana.
