Grand Theft Auto 4 is a 2008 PC game from Rockstar. As in several previous games in the series, the action takes place in Liberty City, the prototype of which was the city of New York. The main character is an expat from the Balkan Peninsula Niko Bellik. After moving to the USA, he is trying to build a career in the criminal world of Liberty City with the help of his cousin Roman.
Ending selection
How many endings in GTA 4? Toward the end of the game, the main character works for the Italian mafia boss Jimmy Pegorino. He instructs Niko to participate in a drug deal in which Dmitry Raskalov, the head of a Russian criminal gang, is involved . Earlier in the game, he tried to kill the protagonist and his brother, after he forced Niko to work for himself, and then betrayed.
Bellic has a choice: to participate in the deal and get big profits (which Kate is against - the girl Nico) or take revenge on Raskalov (which is opposed by Roman, who had long dreamed of a big jackpot). Depending on the player’s choice, one of the two GTA 4 endings is presented to his attention.
Deal
If the player chooses the option with the deal, then when Niko and assistant Jimmy Pegorino Phil arrive at the port, it turns out that everything was rigged by Raskalov to revenge Niko. The main character and his partner kill all of Dmitry’s assistants and take the money. The player’s account receives 250 thousand dollars.
When Kate finds out that Nico chose the option with a deal, he gets upset and refuses to go to Roman’s wedding. At the end of GTA 4, the killer sent by Raskalov tries to shoot Niko and accidentally kills his brother. With the help of the Jamaican bandit Jacob, the protagonist tracks Raskalov in an empty casino, breaks through his henchmen and tries to kill the enemy. A tense pursuit involving helicopters and motor boats follows, after which Niko still manages to avenge the death of his brother.
In the final scenes of the game, the bride of Roman Mallory tells Nico that she is pregnant, and Kate calls and expresses support for the protagonist, forgiving him for deciding to make a deal with Raskalov.
Revenge
If a player decides to choose a different GTA 4 ending and ignore Pegorino’s order, then Niko arrives at the docks alone, deals with Dmitry’s people, gets on the ship on which he arrived in America a few months ago, and kills Raskalov. After that, there is a telephone conversation with Phil, who is happy about the death of the villain, but reports that Jimmy is angry with Nico for disrupting the deal.
In this scenario, Kate is pleased that the main character decided to break all ties with the underworld, and goes to Roman’s wedding with him. During the ceremony, people from the Pegorino family open fire on a crowd from a passing car and kill a girl. Nico blames himself for Kate's death and decides to take revenge.
With the help of Jacob and Roman, he tracks down Jimmy all in the same casino as in the other GTA 4 ending. Again, a shootout with a crowd of enemies and a pursuit, slightly modified in comparison with another option. Nico kills Jimmy and avenges Kate's death.
In the last scenes of the game, Nico is called by Kate’s brother - Irish bandit Patrick, as well as Roman, who reports that his bride is pregnant and if this is a daughter, they will name the girl in honor of Kate.
