In modern conditions, finding a good job is not easy. If you are lucky, and you work in a good company, get a decent reward for your work, spend time with your colleagues with pleasure, then you are unlikely to allow absenteeism without a good reason.

If you have a good job and a responsible attitude to the matter, the need to stay at home for various reasons, often associated with illness of relatives or repairs, can plunge you into a state of shock. But do not despair ahead of time: in such situations, employees are granted leave without pay.

In order to use it, you need to write an application for leave without pay to the manager and indicate in it the reason why you are forced to temporarily not work. Do not be afraid to be left without another paid vacation, they have nothing to do with each other. For this reason, leave without pay is often called optional.

Before you apply with the appropriate statement to the head, each employee should know that leave without pay may be provided at the discretion of the administration if there are conditions for this at the enterprise. In other words, if your company received an urgent order and everyone is working in emergency mode, you should not ask for additional rest at this time, it is unlikely that the administration will satisfy such a request. True, if you really have extraordinary life circumstances, you can take a chance. Do not forget that your boss is an ordinary person, and he will certainly be able to understand you and help you. But, trying to arrange personal affairs, you should not come up with incredible stories and try to deceive everyone. In the future, a lie will certainly come to the surface and may cause you to be fired or create a conflict. It’s not worth the risk: the truth is still more reliable.

In many enterprises, cases in which the administration is obliged to provide additional leave are stipulated in the collective agreement. This includes funerals, seeing off the army, weddings and having a baby. Sometimes such leave is granted to parents whose children went to first grade.

In some cases, the administration is forced to provide leave without pay, regardless of the situation at your enterprise. This applies to the provision of parental leave up to three years. At the same time, not only mom, but also any member of the family, including grandparents, can take advantage of such a vacation. The law provides the right to enjoy such leave in parts. For example, for three months, the mother takes care of the baby, and then for three months the father deals with it. However, you can draw up any schedule for caring for the baby and, in accordance with it, take leave without saving a salary at the enterprise.

All mothers with two or more minor children have the right to additional leave, in which the administration has no right to refuse you. If you have not used it for a year, you can extend the duration of your next vacation by two weeks.

The same right is granted to the Heroes of Socialist Labor and many other honored people who have government awards. But the residents of the far north, Sakhalin and Kamchatka receive additional leave in order to get to the place of rest and spend the main vacation. Sometimes it takes at least two weeks.

You cannot be fired, transferred to a new job or demoted during a vacation without maintenance . Do not forget about it, and feel free to use the opportunities provided for you by law to relax.
