Andrey Kivinov: biography and creativity

Since the times of Zheglov, Znamensky, Tomin and Cybrit, it was hardly possible to meet criminal investigation officers in the Russian cinema, whom the whole country knew and loved, but the heroes of this author were able to become one of the deserved level if they didn’t get around their predecessors.

Shipbuilding engineer

Kivinov Andrei Vladimirovich has gone from a police officer to a police major. Although, as they say, nothing boded ... An ordinary St. Petersburg guy, passionate about sports, rock music and reading adventures. After graduating from school in his native Leningrad, Andrei Vladimirovich continued his studies, first at the shipbuilding technical school, and then at the shipbuilding institute, while working at the research institute with a degree in shipbuilding technology.

But the work of an engineer did not appeal to special prospects, and Andrei Kivinov, in search of romance, decided to change his occupation and went to work for the police as a simple operative. According to Andrei Vladimirovich, not only a passion for adventure, but also a higher salary were decisive when choosing. In addition to adventure, he had a passion for literature since childhood. He even tried to enter the literary faculty of the pedagogical institute.

During his work at the police, Kivinov was awarded the medal "For Excellent Service and Law Enforcement."

Creation

Later, when Andrei Kivinov starts to work in the police and gets his first rank, he will begin to write stories and tales on the topics of police everyday life. Kivinov's works are based on real events, and the characters have their own prototypes. Andrei copied the images of the main characters from his colleagues, so the characters look very realistic. And Dukalis, and Volkov, and Major Solovets are real people who worked in the ordinary police department. Moreover, the prototype of Solovets, Oleg Dudintsev, also became a co-author of Andrei Vladimirovich when writing "Deadly Force." The hero of Kazantsev was immediately written off from two colleagues of Andrei Kivinov, and only Larin is a collective image, maybe that's why he is slightly different from other operas.

Andrey Kivinov books

The first work, which Andrei Kivinov wrote in the early 90s, is “A Nightmare on Stachek Street”. Initially, this work was not supposed to be made public, but Andrei's friends and colleagues liked the story so much that it was decided to publish it. Since then, more than 170 books have been released from the pen of the author, many of them collected in cycles and series.

In assortment

Today, Andrei Kivinov, whose books are a huge success among Russian-speaking readers around the world, is a member of the Writers' Union of St. Petersburg and continues to work at the Agency for Journalistic Investigations, teaches at the police school and is a consultant to the magazine Out of Law. The author continues his career, replenishing the second-hand book shelves with his works, sometimes in collaboration with Sergey Mayorov. In addition to traditional prints, you can find audio books by Andrey Vladimirovich Kivinov. Based on his stories, they continue to shoot not only series, but also feature films. One of the last beloved by the viewer was the "High Security Comedy" with the participation of many stars of domestic cinema.

Famous Streets

Andrei Kivinov “Streets of Broken Lights” created as a series of stories, but it turned out that this series became the most popular. It was based on these stories that director Andrei Ryazantsev made a multi-part film of the same name. Later, among the directors who worked on the first series of the film were Vladimir Bortko and Alexander Rogozhkin.

“A Nightmare on Stachek Street” was the first episode of the cycle. Between 1997 and 2014, 15 seasons of the film were released. The series received more than one TEFI award as the best Russian series. The names, directors, acting characters, the shooting style and the viewer's attitude to the series changed.

The most successful, according to viewers, were the first seasons of the movie "Cops." In the first series, emphasis was placed on honesty and integrity. The simplicity of the surroundings and the grayness of everyday life in the 90s immerse the adult audience in nostalgic memories, and the young generation is given the opportunity to get acquainted with the history of the country at one of its difficult stages of development. We plunged not only into the harsh everyday life of the criminal investigation department, the author allowed us to look deeper into each character, to find out how he lives and what he thinks about. They wear shabby jeans and ski hats, sometimes tell vulgar jokes, they are tired and irritated, but so close and understandable.

Not a day without a joke

Andrey Kivinov endowed his characters with a good sense of humor, without which working in such units is quite difficult. Recalling his work in the department, the writer says that it is impossible to take work seriously. You begin to empathize with the victims, take everything too close to the heart, many do not stand it and leave. Humor in this case is a protective reaction to stress. The actors were perfectly able to convey the general tone of the works, they look so natural each in their role, and long after the release of the last season with the participation of Casanova, Larin and Dukalis they were associated precisely with the characters from the series. Many, incidentally, it was here that they revealed their acting talent and became known to the general public.

Rebirth

The series “Streets of Broken Lights”, in fact, became the starting point of cinema of the 90s. It was after the release of the first episodes of the film that the operative heroes began to appear one after another, but none of them in their popularity could be compared with either Captain Larin or Tolya Dukalis. Before, the audience had already watched the life of the operatives, but the series “The Investigation is Conducted by Znatoki” has sunk into the distant past, and the niche has remained unoccupied.

New doesn't mean better

The new episodes of the film “Streets of Broken Lanterns” differ significantly from what was originally both the cast and the quality of filming, however, the new seasons did not manage to become so popular, the characters do not evoke the same emotions from the audience, and most of the reviews about the film unfortunately negative. Viewers note that the image of the “ment” of the 90s disappeared from the screen, in its place came the heroes, deprived of the sincerity and immediacy that attracted more than a million detective detectives every night to the screens.

Not only films shot on the stories of Andrei Vladimirovich cause a keen interest. His books are being sold out at tremendous speed. Andrey Kivinov is one of the most widely read authors of the modern detective genre. Despite the popularity of books among readers, he is not a rich man at all. According to him, there is no streak of entrepreneurship in it. The main thing is that readers and viewers are satisfied.
