Ceiling curtain: installation rules

Ceiling curtains - one important and necessary items in every home. Firstly, with its help you can visually increase the height of the room. Installation of both of these elements is carried out according to the same scheme.

1) Round. In fact, these are typical crossbars that perform a decorative function. Their diameter varies from 15 to 40 mm. Mounted on the ceiling and walls.

For installation work you will need:

  • Screwdrivers.

  • Building level.
  • Ruler and simple pencil.
  • Screws and screws.

Ceiling curtain is suitable for installation on a wooden, concrete and glossy surface. First you need to dock several cornices, fitting them to the size of the room. The ceiling curtain is sawn with a grinder or a hacksaw equipped with small teeth.

Next, we mark out and make holes in the grooves along which the hooks will go. If you have a suspended or plasterboard ceiling in your room, then the holes must be marked in accordance with the location of the embedded elements. In other cases, the first hole is made in the very center of the curtain, while others are distributed around the edges. The minimum distance between them is 400 mm.

If the ceiling curtain provides for several strips on which the curtains will subsequently be fixed, then the holes must be made in all rows. For this purpose, a drill with a diameter of 5 mm is used.

If you are dealing with a stretch, wooden or plasterboard ceiling, then we can say that the preparatory phase is completed. Now we proceed to fixing the curtains to the ceiling using self-tapping screws. If the ceiling is concrete, then before installing the cornice you need to make holes designed for plugs dowels. Then screws will be screwed into them. So, we put a curtain on the ceiling, set it to the distance we need and make the appropriate markings. After that we take in our hands a perforator with a drill, the diameter of which is 6 mm, and make holes with a depth of about 40 mm. We drive in pre-prepared plastic plugs. Next, we fix the curtains on the ceiling. Look from the side, whether everything is smooth. If something is wrong, immediately correct.
