How to plant carrots: simple and affordable actions
A bed reserved for carrots is sprinkled with ash, grooves up to 3 cm deep are cut in it, while it is necessary to leave aisles up to 20 cm, and along the edges of the beds up to 12 cm. Grooves need to be shed with water and sown seeds prepared in advance. It will be sufficient to withstand a distance of 1.5 cm between them. Further, the furrows should be level with the ground. At the edges of the beds it is worth planting a radish, which will rise quite quickly, while indicating the rows of carrots, in which case you can start loosening early. Planting onions on a carrot bed is also very useful, since its smell is able to drive away carrot flies - the most dangerous pests of this root crop. At first, the garden should be watered abundantly, and when the first seedlings turn green, it is necessary to reduce watering to a couple of times a week. And although the seed material does not completely sprout, however, seedlings after the formation of the first leaf are recommended to thin out to leave the strongest plants.
