What the new bridge means for a big city is well understood by the townspeople themselves, who have to travel long distances to get to the right place. All this is nerves, gasoline and time. The construction of the Frunze bridge in Samara will help to solve the problem.
How it all began?
At the end of December 2012, N. I. Merkushin, the governor of the region, sent an open letter to the State Duma with a proposal to begin construction of the bridge. The new construction is an important and very necessary transport artery that will connect one of the districts with the historical center of the city.
The bridge will connect two streets of the Kuybyshevsky district - Frunze and Shosseinaya. This will help reduce the intensity of traffic on the street. Main and switch part of the transport stream to this design. In addition, a new bridge will connect the city with the federal highway M-32 and other local highways. Thanks to the Frunze bridge in Samara, a direct connection will appear both with the new Southern City microdistrict and with the satellite cities of Samara - Chapaevsky and Novokuybyshevsky.
The entire structure will pass through two reservoirs: Lake Bannoye and the Samara River. The planned length of the structure is almost 667 meters. The width of the structure is 21.1 m, which is designed to break down 6 strips.
To provide passage for river vessels, a bridge clearance of over 0.2 km wide is planned. Also, the bridge will be raised to a height of 12 m above the water.
Since the bridge is a structure that includes up to 135 channel spans, it is a unique and technically complex construction. This category is indicated in the Town Planning Code of the Russian Federation. Accordingly, it is FS Rostekhnadzor that controls the progress of work.
An import substitution program was introduced at the construction of the Frunze bridge in Samara. And this means that only Russian-made materials manufactured in accordance with international standards will be used for work. It is about:
- Corrosion-resistant coatings.
- Geosynthetic materials.
- Components required for mixing asphalt mixtures, etc.
At the facility it was planned:
- Lay 46,000 cubic meters. monolithic reinforced concrete.
- Perform asphalt pavement in the amount of 101 thousand square meters. m
- Make a mound of 1,140,000 cubic meters. m of soil.
- Mount about 10,000 tons of metal structures.
Start of the construction process
The project of the Frunze bridge in Samara was approved, and in November 2015, construction work on its implementation was solemnly launched.
The general contractor is STG JSC. He will do the following:
- Develop working documentation (completed).
- Supply material and technical resources (in process).
- Perform installation work (in progress).
The Stroytransgaz enterprise also took part in the construction work at the preparatory stage. It has been executed:
- The completion of earthworks.
- Release and preparation of sections of the route where work will be carried out.
- Rebuilt communications.
Budget and timeline
The initial draft indicated that the construction of the bridge in Samara was to be completed by early 2019. Life has made its own adjustments, and now the finish of the work has been postponed for another year.
It was decided to allocate part of the money for the construction of the bridge from the regional budget. The amount is quite impressive - 12.8 billion rubles. In 2015, 820 million were allocated, in 2016 and 2017 the amounts were allocated in parts of 4 billion. The same amount will be allocated in the current 2018.
But this, of course, is not enough, therefore, according to the decree signed by the head of the Russian government D. Medvedev, in 2016 over a billion rubles were additionally allocated from the country's treasury to the Frunze bridge in Samara. In total, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation will allocate about 134 billion rubles for the implementation of the project.
How did the work progress in 2016?
By the beginning of the new year 2017, according to the project, the builders completed the construction of a reinforced concrete bridge. It passes through the lake. Bath. In addition, several pillars were built:
- No. 2 and No. 7. These are channel elements.
- No. 1 and No. 8. The structures are installed on the coastline.
A number of preparatory work was also carried out for the construction of transport interchanges.
2018: how is the construction progressing?
To date, work is ongoing. The assembly of the metal structures necessary to create the 5th stage of the span slide is in progress. At the moment, a structure 250 meters long has already been moved from the left bank. It weighs 3,130 tons. The central part, located between the 2nd and 7th pillars, consists of 11 elements. Their length is almost 560 m.
In addition, the construction of the supporting element No. 3 is completed and the basement part of the fourth construct is arranged. When these works are completed, all the supports for the Frunze bridge in Samara will be ready.
Also, preparation for construction and installation work continues at the exit junction of the left bank transport hub, which opens onto Shosseynaya Street (8 interchanges will be built in total). The construction of reinforced concrete track supports at the C-3 exit has already been completed. When the frosts leave and positive air temperatures come, work on the span structure will continue - this is necessary according to the technological features of the process.
But the work is still far from complete: the lack of funds slowed down the process much. Recently it was reported that the Frunze Bridge will be commissioned by the end of 2020. It remains to wait not so much.
