“Mom - the first word, the main word in every fate” - is sung in a children's song. And no one will dare to argue with this, because without a mother there would be no life. Of course, very often we don’t realize what role it plays in our lives, but at the same time our very birth without it is impossible. Therefore, it is not surprising that literary works about women who knew the sacrament of having a baby are so popular.
The parable of the mother is one of the most common literary plots. Why is he so famous?
King Solomon
Most often, this type of teaching is found as the parable of the mother’s love. Usually he is associated with the sacrifice of a woman, her willingness to do anything for the sake of the child, to refuse any benefits, if only everything was fine with the baby. One of the most famous legends with such a motive is the story of King Solomon and two neighbors.
Once, two women came to the ruler, living nearby and recently became mothers. At night, one of them accidentally strangled her baby and put him in the crib of a neighbor, and took a living child for herself. Naturally, in the morning the mother, having discovered the substitution, tried to return her baby, but the neighbor flatly refused to give the baby back. Therefore, she turned to the king with a request to judge them.
Solomon did not think long - he ordered the child to be cut in half so that every woman received it. One of the arguing quarrels shouted that it would be even better: no one would remain offended, but the other turned pale and asked to give the baby to her opponent.
With a smile, the king returned the baby to a second woman who did not allow the execution of a terrible court sentence. After all, only a true mother, according to Solomon, is able to abandon her interests in order to save the child.
Mom's love
Another interesting parable about the mother tells about her attitude to her children. One day they argued the eldest and youngest son, which mother loves more of them. They argued for a long time, even fought, trying to prove their case, but did not reach an agreement. Then they decided to go to her mother to ask her herself who is more dear to her.
After listening to the sons, the woman smiled, picked up a candle, lit it and set it on the table in front of the children. “The flame,” she said softly, “is my love for you children,” she took two smaller candles, set fire to each one first and put all three in a row, “except that I divided this flame into several candles , has it become smaller? Is one of these smaller candles having less fire now? ” The boys, looking at the lights, realized that mom was right, that the flame on all three wicks is exactly the same. They felt ashamed, bowed their heads, not daring to ask their mother for forgiveness for a stupid argument, and she only hugged her sons and hugged her, as if protecting from all adversities.
This parable about the mother proves that there are no beloved and unloved children, for mother all are equal.
Apostate
Another interesting story, slightly echoing the previous one, is the parable of the mother and the apostate son.
One woman was accused of witchcraft and sentenced to be burned at the stake. On the appointed day in the main square of the town there was nowhere for the apple to fall. The crowd raged, demanded the execution of the witch, only the son of the convict was silent, standing not far from the pillory. Suddenly someone shouted that it would be necessary to burn him: he is a descendant of the sorceress, which means that he carries evil in himself. People already grabbed the young man in his arms, about to carry him in this way to the post, but his mother cried out with all her might: “This is not my son! I stole it! ” Naturally, the young man was released, and the theft of the child was added to the atrocities of the “witch”. The son silently watched the fire burn in which his mother perished. And he did not even try to refute her last words, he renounced his mother in order to save his life.
After a couple of years, it turned out that the woman was still innocent. Her good name was restored, but people could not forgive the son who refused his mother.
This parable shows that not only the mother should be ready for anything for her child, but he should answer her the same.
"And mothers heart, having fallen on the threshold ..."
And perhaps the most famous teaching is the parable of the mother’s heart. Someone says that the original legend belongs to the mountain people, while others say that it all began with an author’s story, which was later adapted by different nationalities. But the idea still remained common.
The young man fell in love with a beautiful girl. But no matter how hard he tried, he could not even get her supportive look. The young man promised that he would get everything that she wanted for her beloved, go to any feats, if only she would be with him. And then the cruel beauty demanded that the unfortunate lover bring her mother's heart to her.
The young man decided on a terrible crime. Killing his mother, he cut a heart out of her chest, wrapped him in a rag and carried it to the girl. On the way to his lover, he stumbled and fell. And the mother’s heart, having hit the dusty road, only asked quietly: “Don’t you hurt yourself, son?”
This famous story again emphasizes the sacrifice and heroism of women who are ready for anything for the sake of their child.
Conclusion
The parable of the mother is almost an independent branch in this literary genre. Such stories are always full of wisdom, examples of the greatest sacrifice and, perhaps, the purest love that only a mother is capable of.
