Any player at least once went down to the Black Limit or went into a Dwemer location in TES V. Among the enemies there are often Falmers, who were called snow elves in Skyrim. It is believed that they were one of the first to master the northern part of Tamriel (mainland). They were previously considered highly developed beings until disaster struck.
War between the Nords and the Elves
Once the Nords came to the mainland, and war broke out between the races. As a result, the snow elves were defeated and driven out of Tamriel. The last battle took place on the island of Solstheim near Mount Moesring. Armed nords killed the elves until they saw a warrior in magnificent armor on a white horse. He was not like the rest of the Skyrim snow elves, as he shone with a bright and terrifying light.
His appearance caused joy among fellow tribesmen, and the Nords could not understand its cause. It was not just a warrior, but their leader - the Snow Prince. He rode through the ranks of his rivals, which caused them shock. They came to understand that there would be no victors and defeats today, since death awaits everyone. The prince came to punish the enemy, and he did it.
Suddenly a blizzard came in, blinding and knocking down. The leader began to crush the enemies, and a whirlwind of ice and snow circled around him. After they began to die, it seemed that elves should defeat the war. When the Prince wanted to deliver a decisive blow, all of a sudden it all ended not in his favor. He was hit by a sword that launched Finn, the daughter of a Nordic warrior. It was revenge for the death of her mother.
The prince died, part of his army was killed, but some managed to escape. His body was wrapped in silk nords and placed in the mound. Those snow elves of Skyrim who managed to escape, went underground. So begins the story of today's Falmer.
The story of becoming a Falmer
So, the defeated creatures turned to the Dwemer for help. They agreed to shelter, but forced the elves to consume poisonous mushrooms growing underground. As a result, they were blinded and turned into little-sympathetic freaks - Falmers. The Dwemer sought to become their absolute slaves. They continued to feed their guests mushrooms to make of all future generations the same powerless slaves. Current Falmers continue to eat mushrooms, as they have developed an addiction (similar to narcotic).
After some time, the former elves decided to raise an uprising against the "masters". Thus began the Underground War, which, together with the battle at the Red Mountain, led to the disappearance of the Dwemer. By the way, this race can be added to the game if you install a special mod on Skyrim 5. The added character will receive absolutely unique skills.
After the death of the Dwemer, the Falmer remained to live in the cities they built. Many battles made them cruel and bloodthirsty creatures.
How they look and where they live
Before the transformation, snow elves were quite attractive, because they had snow-white skin and blond hair. Sometimes there were representatives who grew a beard. As for the Falmer, they look like beast-like creatures with an unpleasant appearance. The blindness of the race has led to a rumor in them.
Falmer live in Dwemer ruins, dark dungeons and Black Reach. There they live best with their blindness. Also, race representatives can be found in the Forgotten Valley, which will appear after installing the Dawnguard add-on.
Grades
Former Snow Elves of Skyrim have their own ranking system. They are slightly different in external data and have unique abilities:
Wild. They live only in the Forgotten Valley. They have no weapons, but very skillfully use their claws.
Frozen. They donβt carry weapons, as they drain their vitality (like vampires). They live in the Forgotten Valley.
Mercenaries. Very capable creatures, well versed in various weapons and magic. They can also poison the enemy upon impact.
Shamans. Strong Falmer, who wear staves and actively use magic. With some probability, they can poison the enemy.
Modifications
To diversify the game and get to know the snow elves better, you can use mods. Below are the most popular ones.

- Adding a new race for the character. When creating a hero with the help of a mod, you can get a male or female elf. It will have unique characteristics: resistance to poisons - 50%, cold - 75%, magic - 30%. At the same time, they are vulnerable to fire spells by 25%. The main skill of the race representative is the ability to turn a target into an ice.
- Legacy of the Snow Elves of Skyrim. The mod adds some interesting quests, by which we will search and restore ancient race artifacts. The task will appear after the delivery of the letter to Colcelmo (Markart). It should be remembered that the quest "Missing Expedition" must be completed.
- Falmer women. Mod replaces most of the race with the elves.
- Call Falmer. A spell is added to the game, thanks to which it can be called to help the hero.
- Snow Elf Hut. In the game it will be possible to purchase a themed house located in the mountains behind the ruins of Btardams. The building has 4 levels and is equipped with a swimming pool. A new companion, the elf, will also be added.
- Snow Elf Armor Skyrim. Mod adds armor of this race (including for vampires and guardians of Dawn). You can also make 2 shields: Runic and Uriel.
- Paladin Gwiner. An elf with beautiful armor, powerful bow and unique magic will appear in the game. He will tell the story of his family: he and his brother came in search of surviving brothers.
Snow Elves are an amazing race, which, unfortunately, has become extinct. If you want to diversify the game, find out more about the history of the raceβs decline, visit their βskinβ, then you should install a special mod on Skyrim-5.
