A skateboard board is called a deck. The curved front end is called the nose, and the same rear end is called the tail.
Skateboards for children are identical to the product for adults. They are only slightly lighter in weight and less. But this is not always a plus. If the child is 10 years old or older, then you can safely buy an adult reliable skate.

- The most durable, strong and reliable skateboards are made from Canadian maple. They are six-, seven- and nine-layer. The layers are tightly pressed and glued together. The better the glue, the less likely it is that the board will begin to delaminate. Skateboards designed for rolling along the railing have a plastic layer underneath. When choosing a deck, you need to check that the board does not begin to delaminate. But it is not worth taking too dry, which has lain in the warehouse for a long time. Such a skate can break quickly.
- For the child, the deck length is not very important. But if your offspring is already not very small, then it is better to choose a longer skate.
- If the child is tall, it will be more convenient for him to ride a wider skateboard. But when your young athlete chooses a certain riding style for himself, then it will be easier to determine the width of the board. A wide, steady skate is ideal for performing slides. And if the child goes “cool” perfectly, then the ideal option is a narrow maneuverable board.
- Decks become deformed over time. When choosing a skateboard for children, give preference to what was made relatively recently.
- Pay attention to the wheels. It’s much more pleasant to ride on soft ones, but they will not keep speed well. And the minus of hard wheels is that the skate vibrates a lot.
