The creators of The Elder Scrolls did a titanic job. From year to year, with a certain periodicity, we were met by increasingly global and interesting projects. The last of them was the legendary Skyrim. A crossbow with bolts of various kinds, a bow made of dragon bones, glass armor, hundreds of thousands of monsters, dozens of the most difficult dungeons - all this you can find in the vast expanses of the northern lands.
A bit about variety
In general, the game was famous for its volume. Of course, her world was a little smaller than in some previous parts, but it was much more diverse. At every turn some terrible enemy could meet us, bandits prepare an ambush, and a traveler ask for help. Our main character constantly got into dangerous troubles, took on the most terrible tasks, and the dragons that want to kill us throughout the game will not let you get bored on a long journey. A powerful role-playing component, division into classes and specializations are the hallmarks of the game “Skyrim”. Crossbow and bows, for example, were preferred by a ranged warrior. He was able to slow down time a little, “closer” his gaze, and also deliver crushing blows from those places from where the enemy would not see him for sure. Swords, two-handed axes, shields are the lovers' preferences for crushing skulls from close range. Finally, it was not without magic, here we will be met by several magic schools and many spells.
Additions to the game
Since the release of the original part, many additions to it have already appeared. So, for example, Dawnguard added a new type of weapon to the Skyrim game - a crossbow. It was used mainly by members of the Guardian of the Dawn Order, the only vampire hunters in this part of the world. In the game, we were invited to join this order in order to clear the local places from the impending threat. True, we ourselves could become a vampire, and even achieve good success in this regard. However, the addition was much more global, it introduced many new tasks and gave different shades of life to Skyrim. Crossbow mod, if you like, can be found without buying / installing this add-on.
By the way, more about the new weapons. Such changes have long been asking for the game and fit well into it. The crossbow has a serious force of defeat and is able to easily overwhelm even armored opponents. Of course, it was extremely difficult to launch a projectile from it over a long distance, but, for example, in narrow corridors of the dungeons it would be the best.
Ways to get a crossbow
In Dawnguard's addition to Skyrim, the crossbow was available in several ways. True, they were all connected with the Order. For example, for joining the ranks of the aforementioned Guard of Dawn, one copy was issued. In addition, if you are good at pickpocketing, you could simply steal it from members of this order. In “Skyrim” you could get a crossbow just by walking around the Sentinel Fortress, there is a lot of this good, so you can choose the one you like the most. Finally, it was possible to kill one of the members of the order by pulling a gun from its corpse or creating it if you had sufficient blacksmithing skills.
Varieties
The game has several types of crossbows, not as many as bows, but enough. Of course, even with conventional weapons, you can do something legendary if you put the necessary spells on him. Thus, even the most common Dwemer crossbow in the Skyrim game could turn into something special that causes fire damage, expels the undead, freezes the enemy slightly, draws vitality from him, and much more. Not without nominal representatives of these weapons, which are in the game in a single copy. These are issued for special tasks or knocked out of special NPCs, and it is not necessary that he will be hostile to you.
