Having made a house, you can significantly save on material. For example, using old furniture, a sprawled chest of drawers, old cardboard boxes, etc.

Useful Tips

  • Making the front side of the house separately, or its absence. The front part should be easily removable so that the child can freely approach the house, put his own dolls there, and also put things in order.
  • The use of special schemes or drawings: this will allow to achieve an even, clear and balanced design in the end. Such a house is much stronger than the purchased one.
  • Do not use formaldehyde emitting materials! Baby safety first!

All dads note!

Attention dad boys! A toy house is not only a dream of any girl, but also a boy. You can make it the theme in a purely boyish style and enjoy watching how the child from morning to evening plays the adventures of a superhero and the dangerous stunts of a spider-man on the roof of a skyscraper made by the caring hands of dad. Most Popular Materials

Most often, our dads with "golden hands" use plywood for making a dollhouse. This is the best option, because plywood is durable, resistant to external pressure, processing, quite “democratic”: it accepts almost any fastening material, namely nails, self-tapping screws, glue, etc. To prevent the child from injuring itself against corners and cuts, plywood is polished. It is unlikely that the girl will like the fact that the walls in all rooms will be the same beige color. This is easy to fix! Plywood is varnished, stain, paint or wallpaper. Here is a list of the materials that are needed to make a dollhouse out of plywood:

  • the main material (plywood) with a thickness of 7 mm or more;
  • electric jigsaw;
  • wood glue or PVA;
  • self-adhesive film (imitating linoleum), carpet, etc .;
  • wallpaper, paint (for the decor of the walls of the rooms of the house);
  • corrugated cardboard (for roof decor, imitation of tiles);
  • fabric (for window and furniture decor);
  • pencil;
  • roulette.

The mechanism of making a house for dolls

Consider the process from the inside. Let's turn to the simplest and fastest way - making a house out of a cardboard box. First of all, you will need:

  • cardboard box;
  • cutter and scissors;
  • Scotch;
  • paint;
  • various materials for decorating rooms (wallpaper, fabric, paint, wrapping or colored paper, etc.)

Firstly, the creation of the frame and roof for the dollhouse.

Cut off the top of the box (the one that opens / closes it). Then we cut the product in half. As a result, two half-boxes and two pieces of cardboard formed. We are working with pieces of cardboard so far: from one we make the facade of the roof, from the second - the crossbar for the second floor. We fasten the cardboard with tape. Before gluing the delimiter of the first and second floors, make a cutout for the stairs. From the remaining half of the box, cut rectangular strips, imitating slopes for the roof of the dollhouse.

If desired, you can make an attic. To do this, do not forget about the ceiling separating it and the second floor, as well as about the cutout of the opening for the stairs. Now we are modeling our house. First you need to mark up where the windows and the door will be located. Using a clerical knife, cut openings according to a marking. Now all that remains is to make the stairs and glue them with adhesive tape to the previously made holes. Outside, the house is painted with plain paint, preferably light shades.

Secondly, finishing work.

Roof tiles can be cut out of colored paper. It will be very interesting to look if each tile element is made in a different color. Stick with ordinary PVA glue. The rooms can be decorated in different ways: the living room will look extravagant in textiles, for bedrooms wallpaper will be better than ever, for the bathroom - bright wrapping paper. The steps on the stairs are best marked with a bright marker.

Different room decor options

Thirdly, the manufacture of furniture.

Furniture is cut with scissors or a cutter. Parts are fastened with glue. Here the imagination is simply endless: a bed, a wardrobe, a table, chairs, a chest of drawers, a TV, an armchair, stools, a sofa, a fireplace, wall paintings, kitchen appliances, etc.

And, in the undergrowth ...

As you can see, making a dollhouse with your own hands is not so difficult. You just need to stock up on material, patience and great love for your child. As already mentioned above, houses can be made of various materials. Of course, the toolkit is changing a bit. For example, for a wooden dollhouse , drawings, a tape measure, an electric jigsaw are additionally needed.
