Let's build a stove in the bathhouse with our own hands!

Recently, the Russian bath is becoming increasingly popular. And not in vain, because going to the bathhouse gives you not only the opportunity to wash and take a good steam bath, but also to get a powerful charge of energy for the whole week.

Undoubtedly, the most important element of the bath is the stove. If you are planning to build a bath, then you can’t do without it. Of course, you can simply choose and purchase the finished one. Fortunately, there are a great many of them on sale now. But in this article we’ll talk about how to build a bath stove with a water tank ourselves. This, in fact, is not so difficult. The main thing is to observe the technology in the manufacture and understand the principles by which the bath is heated. The wood-burning stove in this regard is worth a separate mention. It can be heated by wood, coal or peat, less technologically advanced to manufacture than electric or gas stoves. In addition, it is worth noting that new factory models, no matter how good they are, will not be able to provide the unique feeling that a traditional Russian stove-heater gives . After all, a stove in a bathhouse is not only one of the structural elements, but also a special entourage and microclimate created by burning firewood. In addition, such a model is safer compared to electric and gas ones; it does not require the cost of additional communications. By installing a wood stove in the bath, you can not be afraid of a gas leak or a short circuit in the circuit.

Let's talk more about the types of home-made stoves. One of them is a stove with an external water tank. The advantage of this design is its practicality, since there are no situations in which unnecessary raw steam from the tank enters the bath room that has not yet been heated with heat. For the manufacture of such a furnace, we need an ordinary potbelly stove with a built-in register for heating water. Above the firebox, you need to make a special "pocket" for stones (to protect against serious burns, it is better to make it open). Such a furnace is made of sheet steel. The water tank is hung in such a way that its lower edge rises above the register level by at least half a meter. The tank is connected to the register using pipes or a rubber hose.

For small rooms it is recommended to make furnaces with low heat capacity. A furnace is located at the bottom of such a furnace, a heater is in the center, and a tank of water is located at the top of the structure. Inside the metal casing, a brick wall can be laid out (there is also a variant of such a stove without the use of a brick), stones are located on a grate of steel strips. The tank located above is heated using hot gases, water is poured into it through a special side hole. The assembly of this design is relatively simple and is carried out by welding.

Another interesting option is to make an oven in a bath from an iron barrel. First, the top and bottom are removed, resulting in a kind of cylinder. The resulting structure is installed on a grate, which, in turn, is installed on a firebox laid out of brick. Inside the barrel, a wall of bricks placed on the edge is also laid out, and then stones are poured on about two-thirds of the internal space. The barrel is covered with a lid, and a chimney is discharged upstairs.

Also, the stove in the bath can be made of thick sheet metal without using bricks at all. At the bottom of this design there is an ash pan (a device for collecting ash from burnt fuel), a firebox is located above, on top of it there is a grill. There are stones on the grate, a little higher and to the side of them is a chimney. Such a system is quite simple to assemble, but does not keep heat very long due to the lack of brick walls in it.

As you can see, with the appropriate knowledge and a certain knack, it is not at all difficult to make an oven for a bath yourself. The main thing is hard work and enthusiasm.
