Many rave reviews can be heard from flower gardeners regarding the Chippendale Rose. It owes its name to the famous furniture designer Thomas Chippendale, who decorated his products with ornaments in the form of these flowers.
Description
The variety was bred in Germany in 2005. This is a fairly strong bush, reaching a height of 100-120 cm. Its leaves are dark green in color, shiny, have a high resistance to disease. Large flowers with a fruity aroma are collected in inflorescences and sometimes reach a diameter of 10 cm or more. Their unusually beautiful vase-shaped form is filled with a large number of petals (up to 80 pieces). They have a bright dark orange color at the beginning of flowering, and then, gradually fading, acquire an apricot hue. The flowering period of the Chippendale rose lasts long enough, after which the petals show off very carefully.
When purchasing this variety, you should know that it has other names - Ali Mau, Music Hall, Duchess of Cornwall, Ali Man.
Growing Features
Soils for planting this variety are preferably loamy, slightly acidic, rich in humus and well-drained. The place must be chosen warm, well-lit and at the same time protected from drafts. In the shaded area, plants are easily exposed to various diseases; flowers most often form small, pale colors on them. Before planting, the soil is dug to a depth of 45 cm, while adding organic fertilizers.
In order for the flowering to be longer and more plentiful, it is necessary to regularly feed the plant with complex fertilizers, periodically pruning faded inflorescences.
Rosa Chippendale (photo is in this article) is highly resistant to adverse conditions, tolerates rainy weather. The variety is frost-resistant, therefore it does not require shelter for the winter.
Landing and care
Experts are well aware of how important this moment is for the correct formation of the bush. They recommend that you follow a few key rules. Planting Chippendale roses requires an individual approach. When planting this plant in spring, the vaccination site should be deepened by 3 cm. Do not make plantings too thick so that roses do not obscure each other. From 1 to 8 bushes should be planted per 1 square meter.
Caring for a rose includes mandatory removal of dead flowers and proper pruning. It will ensure the formation of a beautiful bush, not allowing it to run wild. In addition, this will lead to more magnificent and abundant flowering.
Watering should be carried out regularly, but at the same time, waterlogging of the soil should be avoided, which can lead to the appearance of diseases of the root system. The soil around the bush should be regularly loosened to a depth of 3 cm. This will help to avoid the appearance of weeds.
Chippendale roses are fertilized with mineral fertilizers at least 3 times during the summer. In autumn, manure can be added to the soil.
Landscape design application
This variety looks great both in small group plantings, and in single. Usually roses are planted along the hedge, near arbors or arches. Coniferous shrubs are a spectacular background for them - their magnificent needles go well with bright and large flowers. Rosa Chippendale, the photo and description of the appearance of which we have given in this article, looks very beautiful among the blue-violet flowers of lavender, bell or spur.
