The birth of Boris Leontyevich is rooted in the history of the last century. He was born in the Ekaterinoslav province in the distant 1908. His family settled in Lugansk district. Jews by nationality, they lived quietly, working in a factory. At the age of fifteen, Boris Gorbatov himself got a job at the Kramatorsky plant. He began his career as a planer. Within the walls of his native enterprise, the young man first experienced a craving for writing, while simultaneously becoming a working correspondent. Describing the life of the working class, he realized in which sphere he wanted to realize himself in the future.

The birth of a new star

Writer's debut took place in 1922. Then, the newspaper "All-Union Stoker" published a short story, "Fed and Hungry." Of course, seeing with his own eyes the everyday life of the working mass, the author vividly reflected them in the work. Readers liked it. So the new Boris Gorbatov was born - a writer who a little later will become a well-known personality in wide circles.

Komsomol members will become the protagonists of future stories of Boris. In 1928, “Cell” was released - another vivid reflection of life in the mid-20s. The success of these works was appreciated in journalistic circles. In 1930 Boris Leontievich was invited to work as an essayist in the newspaper Pravda. As her employee, he goes to the Arctic, and upon returning from a business trip he releases several materials on the development of the north, which were later included in the book “Ordinary Arctic”.
