1. Come up with a plot.
Usually this is the easiest to write stories, because it does not require urgent explanation - this is the so-called skeleton on which the whole story is built. Without a plot, a story can be considered just a bunch of proposals that are not connected in any way, so think carefully - a day, maybe two - and then, when the plot is invented, start with the second point.
2. Designate the main and secondary characters, describe their identities.
The task is more difficult - to decide who the main character will be, how he will be called, what kind of character he will have. After the main character, it is necessary to go to the secondary ones - to decide which atmosphere will reign among them, whether they will be somehow connected - and if so, how. From the central character to the most insignificant, you, like a mosaic, revive your story by letting “residents” into it - the executors of your will, heroes who will obey your imagination, who do not require anything but one - your attitude to them. Try to immediately decide which of the heroes you will sympathize with (this may not necessarily be the main character), and whom you will condemn, whom you will regret, and whom you will condemn to suffering - you are both a king and a god in this reality. But do not be too strict and do not forget that besides you, someone else should like your idea.
3. Develop the plot.
If book heroes would be engaged only in what is written in the plot, that is, in the skeleton of the story, Tolstoy would not write “War and Peace”, and Joan Rowling - “Harry Potter”. You must figure out what your characters will do in addition to the development of the plot, so that the story does not turn out to be “dry” and ordinary. Invent secrets, secrets, important events, unexpected events, before the events that you implied at the very beginning take place in the story, and then your story will literally be filled with events, which will make it incredibly interesting.
