When you watch a fantastic action movie on TV or in a movie theater, an involuntary desire arises to participate in everything that happens on the screen. Computer games, or rather, a specific genre called FPS (First Play Shooter), which provides the player with a huge arsenal of weapons and inexhaustible crowds of opponents, are quite capable of fulfilling such a dream. All this can be attributed to the Timeshift project, the passage of which we will consider today.
main idea
The whole action of the game is based on manipulation of time and scientific developments. Two unique costumes are created, codenamed "alpha" and "beta", allowing its owner to travel in time. The first sample is in the hands of the main villain, who moves into the past and changes the course of historical events, making himself a dictator. The second equipment goes to the main character of the game Timeshift. The passage of the main plot is built mainly on the management of small time intervals - this is a hallmark of the entire gameplay. But we do not have to fight alone - rebels come to the rescue, eager to overthrow the formidable dictator and his rule. As they progress, they will meet more than once on our path, rendering all possible assistance in resistance.
Time management
At some points, passing the Timeshift game will simply be impossible without the given function that the costume offers us. In general, time management here is carried out in three directions: scrolling forward, backward and stop completely. For example, to go through a wall of fire you need to completely stop the passage of time. If you want to go unnoticed by the enemy, then all that is required of you is to slow down for a while everything that is happening around. To return objects to their previous form, you need to skip time ahead. This control function allows the protagonist to take away weapons from the enemy’s hands in stop mode, attach a Velcro grenade to it, after the explosion of which wind off time back and watch the enemy’s body gather together again, to once again scatter to all sides. The rest of the shooter Timeshift, the passage of which will take not so much time, is very similar to the game Half-Life-2. True, in the latter we had fun with physics, but here - with time. In any case, the game turned out to be quite lively and dynamic, not to mention its uniqueness.
Other delights
In general, the game Timeshift, the passage of which does not create any serious difficulties, looks very attractive: beautiful and well-designed graphics (for 2005, generally gorgeous), the possibility of partial destruction of objects of the surrounding virtual world, beautiful special effects - all this gives a positive impression, according to which we evaluate the project. The plot does not take much time, the game can be completed in a few days, or even in a day. Many gamers do not wait for the release of the Timeshift-2 project. The passage of the first part of the shooter put a bullet on the board of the dictator, but this is not the end of an intriguing story. So we wait and hope!
