The steam sterilizer GK-100-3 TZMOI (Tyumen Plant of Medical Equipment and Instruments) is used to disinfect medical linen, dishes, instruments, and laboratory devices. The increased power of the heating element contributes to the formation of a steam jacket, the productivity of which is almost two times higher than that of the predecessor. The unit is equipped with a drying system for processed linen and dressing materials. The main components of the equipment are a steam generator and a sterilization chamber.
Device
The steam sterilizer GK-100-3 includes the following elements:
- Sterilization compartment. The chamber is a cylindrical vessel, the front of which is equipped with a lid. The middle part of the part has double walls, the space between which aggregates with the steam generator pipe, forming a jacket for guaranteed heating of the chamber before the steam inlet, providing heating of the components in the drying mode.
- A strip of polymer material is placed in the groove of the chamber ring between it and the lid.
- The cover of the working compartment consists of a traverse, a round plate of a spherical type, a casing, a locking and screw mechanism.
- The locking device includes a handle and a shutter. Turns of the handle close or open the camera.
- Check valve - serves to pass air and steam exclusively in the direction of the condenser. It, in turn, is connected to a steam generator and is equipped with a coil.
- Steam generator. The element is intended for the production of steam, which is used in sterilization.
- Connecting pipelines and flanges.

Operating principle
The steam sterilizer GK-100-3 is turned on through the network using a switch, after which the voltage is supplied to the transformer, as indicated by the lamp indicator. After the steam generator is filled with water, the voltage is transported to the relay coil, which is activated by opening the contact in the lamp circuit and the magnetic starter.
The inclusion of tubular type electric heaters is carried out by means of the provided toggle switch. After setting it to the “On” position, the process of generating steam in the generator is activated. When the temperature and pressure reach maximum values, a relay is activated, which turns off the magnetic starter and heating elements. The stability of steam parameters is maintained in automatic mode, thanks to the magnetic starter, oriented to work in the given operational parameters.
Safety during work with steam sterilizer GK-100-3
The manufacturer recommends compliance with the following rules related to the safe operation of the device:
- Persons who have undergone appropriate training are allowed to service the device.
- Before starting work, the equipment must be grounded.
- After 5-6 operating cycles, the valve with the stem should be lifted to prevent it from sticking.
- Periodically check the safety valve at the moment of operation.
- Observe the readings of the instrumentation (when the arrow enters the red zone - immediately turn off the equipment).
It is forbidden during the maintenance and operation of the steam sterilizer GK-100-3:
- Operate the equipment until you have thoroughly studied the instructions for use.
- Turn on the device without grounding.
- Leave the appliance unattended working.
- Sterilize in the event of a malfunction or failure of the control gauges.
- To allow the formation of steam in the working chamber with a half-open shutter.
- Open the valve of the chamber without leveling the pressure in it.

Preparation for work
Before starting the operation of the equipment in question, it is recommended to perform a number of mandatory actions. Among them:

- Installation of the sterilizer GK-100-3 produced by TZMOI in a room equipped with sewage, water supply, a source of three-phase alternating current (380 V, 50 Hz).
- Connection of the device, its grounding and testing.
- The filter element must not be filled very tightly to avoid clogging.
Exploitation
The procedure for working with the equipment in question is as follows:
- Close the drain and open the filler valve.
- Fill the steam generator with water to the level of the reference mark.
- The arrows on the manometer are set by adjusting with a screwdriver for pressure conditions.
- The activation toggle switch is turned on, and the warning lamp lights up.
- Work clothes or other accessories are loaded into the sterilization compartment.
- The control knob rotates clockwise to the mark with the desired operating parameters.
- After the formation of the expected pressure, the safety valve opens, which contributes to a drop in the indicator.
- During operation, the time from the start of work to the end of use of the device is noted (from 20 to 45 minutes, depending on the selected mode).
- After completion of the procedure, open the valve to remove condensate.
- Before each new work cycle, the presence of water in the steam generator is checked at the proper level.
- The equipment is turned off by deactivating the toggle switch on and off the drain valve after removing the remaining water and condensate.
Service
Preventive and repair work of the horizontal steam sterilizer GK-100-3 is carried out by trained specialists. The list of works and manipulations includes such procedures:
- Check the rubber gasket for leaks.
- Steam generator grounding control.
- Checking the removal of residual water after work.
- Descaling of heating elements and water-indicating glass every three months.
- Regular check of sensors, pipelines, electrodes, covers for integrity and tightness.
- Cleaning the spool and valves of residual products.
Malfunctions and their elimination
Most often, the equipment in question can work with violations for the following reasons:
- The manometer does not display an indicator of real pressure when it is present in the working chamber. Switch off the unit, check the siphon tube for contamination, and send the measuring device for inspection. The main cause of the malfunction is clogging of the siphon pipeline and damage to the pressure gauge mechanism.
- Pressure increase over the norm. In this case, the pressure gauge should be replaced, since the main cause of the malfunction lies in its failure.
- Lack of safety valve actuation. It is necessary to carefully lift the fixture shaft, bearing in mind the possibility of getting a burn due to the increased temperature in the working compartment. The reason is sticking the spool to the seat saddle.
- If the heating time exceeds 25-30 minutes, it is necessary to check the heating elements and replace them if necessary.
