Easter egg from the modules: master class, scheme

Origami is a very interesting art form. We suggest that you familiarize yourself with it a little closer and learn how to make such an interesting craft as an Easter egg from modules (a master class, an assembly diagram of parts is attached).

What is origami?

Origami is the art of folding paper into various forms. The word is formed from two Japanese words, which literally means β€œfold” and β€œpaper”.

In Japan, this art form originated many centuries ago and found its fans all over the world.

The most popular creation is the crane. The Japanese even have their own legend on this score. They say that the person who folds a thousand paper cranes in his life will be happy and rich.

In the origami technique, you can do many different things: toys, crafts, decorations and useful things for the home, gifts and so on.

Types of Origami

There are such types of origami techniques:

  1. Simple. It is limited to paper manipulations such as accordions and folds. Suitable for beginners.
  2. Sweep by sweep. A more complex form of origami. The principle of technology is as follows: the paper is folded, and then neatly assembled into a shape.
  3. Wet or wet folding. A technique that is used to fold flowers and animals. Its principle is this: the paper is slightly moistened with water, after which the figure is collected. The result is smoother fold lines that are very close to natural forms.
  4. Modular origami. This technique involves the use of several sheets of paper, different not only in color but also in size. As a result, you should get a figure consisting of several parts.

Origami from modules: easter egg

Most often, in a technique such as modular origami, various objects are created that have a spherical shape. Therefore, an Easter egg is best done in this way.

There are two ways to do this craft:

  • First: it will require several colors of paper that alternate sequentially. The result is a striped egg.
  • Second: the Easter egg will turn out with a beautiful ornament.

You can also make an egg stand from the modules. This decoration can be placed in the center of the festive table.

Creating Modules

Universal master class on creating modules for origami crafts:

  1. Take a rectangular sheet of paper and fold it in half (Figure 1).
  2. Fold the sheet in half again to form a fold line perpendicular to the previous one and unfold it (Figure 2).
  3. Wrap the left and right corners to the center line. You have a triangle with one protruding side (Figure 3).
  4. Bend slightly the right edge of the left side so that it is not visible.
  5. Similarly, make the right side (Figure 4).
  6. Turn the figure upside down (Figure 5).
  7. Fold the protruding parts (illustrations 6 and 7).
  8. Turn the figure over (Figure 8).
  9. Bend the peeking corners down (Figure 9).
  10. Turn the figure over again (Figure 10).
  11. Flex the edges by bending the corners for this (Figure 11).
  12. Hide the corners below, bending upwards for this edge (Figure 12).
  13. Fold the shape in half (Figure 13). You have the first module ready (Figure 14).

Methods for attaching modules

The modules can be interconnected in several ways:

  • The first method (Figure 1). Two modules are inserted into the middle of the third with their wings on the long side.
  • The second method (Figure 2). Two modules are inserted into the middle of the third with their wings on the short side.
  • The third method (Figure 3). Two modules are inserted with the long side of their wings in the middle of the third on the short side.

The first option to build crafts

how to make an easter egg from modules

Master class on how to make an Easter egg from modules:

  1. Assemble a lot of paper modules in three colors (for example, white, green, and blue).
  2. Prepare ten pieces of blue for the first and second row of crafts.
  3. Connect them together in the second way, that is, on the short sides.
  4. Lock a row in a circle.
  5. Now you need to double the number of parts. To do this, put on each corner of the modules of the last level one blue part with one pocket.
  6. Put on the twenty blue modules in the fourth row.
  7. The fifth row also consists of twenty modules, but already white.
  8. Sixth row - twenty green modules.
  9. Seventh row - twenty white.
  10. The eighth and ninth row - twenty blue modules.
  11. The tenth row will already consist of only ten modules. To do this, wear parts through two corners.
  12. Eleventh row - ten blue modules, worn immediately on the four corners of the details of the previous rows.
  13. Do the last row in the same way as the previous one. Thus, the Easter egg made using the origami technique from the modules closes.

Second way

easter egg from modules master class

Master class on how to make an Easter egg from modules with a pattern:

  1. Assemble a row of ten blue modules in the second way of assembly and close them in a circle.
  2. Slip on the second row of blue ten-piece modules.
  3. In the third row, the number of modules doubles. For this, parts are inserted between the elements of the second row.
  4. Fourth row - twenty blue modules connect the details of the second and third rows.
  5. The fifth row is the alternation of ten blue modules and the same amount of purple.
  6. The sixth row consists of forty blue modules inserted between the details of the previous row.
  7. Seventh row - forty modules of violet and blue colors that connect the elements of the previous level.
  8. Until the nineteenth row, modules are strung in forty pieces. Do not forget that you must follow a certain color sequence in order for the pattern to come out.
  9. On the fifteenth row, reduce the number of modules to twenty. The procedure is the same as in the previous master class.
  10. On the twentieth row, the sharp tips of a zigzag shape begin to form.
  11. If the top of the egg diverges, then it can be fastened with PVA glue.

Assembling the stand

Master class on how to make an Easter egg on a stand made of modules (photo attached):

  1. Twenty-four violet modules come together and form a ring.
  2. The second and third rows consist of orange and blue modules of twenty-four each.
  3. In the fourth row, the number of modules decreases. To do this, a red module is inserted, after which two purple parts capture three corners. The red element is inserted again and the process is repeated until the end of the row. The result is eighteen modules.
  4. Fifth row - two red modules are inserted.
  5. Sixth - the number of modules is reduced to twelve.
  6. Seventh, eighth and ninth rows - twelve modules of different colors.
  7. Tenth - the number of modules increases in two rows.
  8. Eleventh - additionally green modules are inserted.
  9. Twelfth - two violet modules are inserted.
  10. Thirteenth row - insert the orange modules between the violet, and reduce the amount of green.
  11. Fourteenth - insert two orange modules.
  12. Fifteenth - add red modules, which are inserted between the orange.
  13. Sixteenth - additionally insert another red module.
  14. On the seventeenth row, the formation of branches occurs. To do this, the modules are passed between the orange.
  15. Eighteenth - One orange module is removed.
  16. Nineteenth - leave two red modules.
  17. Twentieth row - they fix the orange module and continue to form branches.
  18. The ends of the branches are decorated with two orange modules.
  19. Similarly, all branches are made.

The stand is ready! An egg is placed in its center.

Another way to make a stand

A master class on how to make a simple easter egg stand from modules (the assembly diagram is described):

easter egg from modules master class diagram

  1. We collect a circle of yellow modules (Figure 1).
  2. We put on the same number of modules, alternating yellow and white colors (Figure 2).
  3. The third row consists of all white modules (Figure 3).
  4. The figure should be assembled and squeezed a little (Figures 4-6).
  5. The fourth row consists of yellow modules (Figure 7). The first half of the stand is ready.
  6. Assemble the second part of the stand in the same way, only alternating colors in a different way (Figure 8).
  7. Connect the two halves of the stand together (Figure 9 and 10).

A simple easter egg stand is ready! Tip: if you want the egg to not fall out of the stand, then glue it with PVA glue or double-sided tape. And if you want the craft to serve you for a long time, then make it from thick paper in bright colors.
