The umbilical stain belongs to perennial herbaceous plants. This species belongs to the aster family. It is found in various regions of Russia, in the countries of Asia and the Caucasus, distributed in Belarus and in most parts of Ukraine.
Flower description
The umbilical cord dyeing (photo above) has many names. As soon as it is not popularly called:
- yellow daisy;
- Cupid
- field saffron;
- wolf's eye;
- bloom;
- bull's eye etc.
In the scientific community, she is known as Anthemis (Antemis). The plant has a straight stem, and in height it can reach 25-60 cm. The size of the flower is not more than 6 cm in diameter. In appearance, the umbilical cord is very similar to a medicinal chamomile, but its main difference is the petals of a yellow or orange hue. The leaves are large, green-gray, covered with hairs in the form of a spider web. A specific aroma is a feature of this plant. Flowering can be observed from early June to August. The fruit in the form of a tetrahedral, slightly flattened seed box ripens in the last summer month.
The umbilical crayfish grows in fields, vacant lots, arid meadows, and it can also be found near residential buildings and roads. The flower is able to withstand severe frosts (up to -30 degrees).
Plant application
In the chemical industry, the umbilical is used as a raw material from which dye for yellow fabrics is made. The same plant is used in folk and traditional medicine. The umbilicus is dyeing, the medicinal properties of which have been known for a long time, has a number of useful actions. It is used as a diuretic, anthelmintic, choleretic and diaphoretic, antimalarial and hemostatic agent.
Decoctions of this medicinal herb are effective in the treatment of diathesis, colds and atopic dermatitis. The drug is used for gastralgia and uterine bleeding. To prepare the broth, you need 2 tsp. dried herbs and a glass of boiling water. The medicinal mixture is poured with hot water and left to infuse for 3-4 hours. Use the broth 4 times a day for a tablespoon per reception.
The stem, leaves and the flower itself are used for medicinal purposes. The value of the plant is that its chemical composition includes such useful components:
- quercetin (a substance from the group of vitamins P);
- essential oil;
- rubber;
- yellow pigment;
- polyacetylene compounds;
- glycosides.
A herbaceous plant is used externally as an insecticidal agent to stop bleeding, make lotions with a decoction. It is prepared in this way: 5 tbsp. l finely grated herbs, bring to a boil and boil for 4-5 minutes. The broth is infused for no more than an hour, after which it must be filtered and applied as directed.
Quercetin: pharmacological properties
A substance from the group of vitamins P - quartzetine - is found in the umbilical cord. This chemical element is widely used in pharmacology. The drug is available in the form of tablets and powders. It is recommended for the prevention and treatment of such diseases:
- vitamin deficiency P;
- hypovitaminosis P;
- diathesis;
- radiation sickness;
- measles;
- scarlet fever;
- rheumatism and many others.
The dose of quercetin is 0.02 g at a time, consumed no more than 5 times a day. Treatment with this remedy lasts approximately 1.5 months.
Belly button dyeing: cultivation
The plant is very unpretentious in care, so growing it is a pleasure. When planting a flower in the garden, you need to consider that the umbilicus likes plenty of sunlight, so you need to choose an open area. The soil should be rocky, with a small amount of sand. The plant is resistant to frost, responds well to soil feeding.
On a flower bed with peonies and irises, a belly button will look great. Growing from seeds is perhaps the only way to propagate a medicinal plant. Sowing is carried out in open ground, and the most favorable time for this procedure is considered to be mid-spring and early autumn.
Plant species
The family of Asteraceae, to which the umbilicus is dyeing, has a huge number of species. In nature, there are about 100 varieties of this herbaceous plant. We will consider only some of them.
- Mayweed. It grows in European countries. Especially often it can be found in Ukraine and the Caucasus, in Belarus, Moldova and the Russian Federation. The plant has healing properties and is used for epilepsy. For these purposes, prepare an infusion: a teaspoon of dried chopped roots is poured with boiling water (200 ml). The tool is infused for 3 hours, after which it must be filtered and drunk 50-75 ml 3 times a day. Drink herbal juice in small doses (a tablespoon 3 times a day) for cancer. Dried root powder is used to enhance male potency, poultices are effective for toothaches.
- Dogβs belly button. Annual plant, characterized by an unpleasant odor. In its chemical composition, it is very similar to a belly button dyeing. Use as an anthelmintic, diuretic. The plant heals wounds well and has an antispasmodic effect. With flatulence, enemas are made from the infusion of grass.
- The navel is noble. The plant is used as a remedy for diseases of the gastrointestinal tract (flatulence, heaviness in the stomach, spasmodic pain). It eliminates inflammation in the mouth and throat. The noble umbilical cord has white flowers and has a whitening property, so it is used to prepare hair dyes.
All these types of plants, despite the very funny name, have useful healing properties and help fight many diseases.
