Indispensable attributes that come with any car are, of course, a spare wheel and a jack. These are really the very things without which it is impossible to imagine not only a long journey, but also an ordinary city trip. As for the jacks, they are of three types: bottle, rhombic and rolling. In the framework of this article, we consider a hydraulic rolling jack.
Jacks of this type are used to perform tire fitting and repair work, not only at service stations, where they are an indispensable attribute, but also ordinary motorists.
The principle of operation of the rolling hydraulic jack
Externally, the hydraulic rolling jack is a trolley whose rigid frame is able to withstand heavy loads. The principle of operation of such a jack is based on the law of Pascal. Installed on the basis of two communicating vessels, in which the cylinders with pistons are located, they are interconnected by channels having two valves (discharge and suction). At the top there is a lifting platform. The working fluid is usually technical oil. The oil filling the cylinder while swinging the handle, filling the cylinder, raises the piston up. The jack is lowered due to depressurization when the valve screw handle is rotated around the axis.
Recommendations for choosing a rolling jack
When choosing a hydraulic rolling jack, first of all, you should decide on what conditions and for which car it will be used. Keep in mind the fact that rolling hydraulic jacks differ in their carrying capacity and lifting height. For cars, a 2-ton hydraulic jack is usually used (although there are designed for 5 tons) and a lifting height of up to 345 mm. If it is planned to lift a car, you need to focus on height, otherwise the jack may simply not crawl up to the ground clearance. It is also necessary to consider the length of the handle, although there are models with an adjustable handle.
In addition, you should decide on the manufacturer. On the modern market, these lifting devices are mainly represented by models made in Europe and China, and the Chinese are divided into professional and for personal consumption. An ordinary motorist who uses it on average once every six months, of course, is better to purchase a hydraulic rolling jack designed for personal consumption, the price of which is half that of a professional one.

Like any device, rolling jacks have their advantages and disadvantages. The advantage of a rolling jack is that with its help it is possible to lift loads quite smoothly, without putting a lot of effort, and also stop them precisely at a given height. The disadvantages include the large weight and dimensions of the device, which may not be very convenient for transportation in the trunk of a car. In addition, a smooth, smooth surface is required for its operation. Even the slightest bias can lead to the fact that the hydraulic rolling jack will fail.
