Some remain, in spite of everything, supporters of the use of arbolit in the construction of the building, while others leave such material as arbolit blocks, the reviews are negative.
Raw materials for the manufacture of material
They have arbolite blocks of characteristics that are directly related to the raw materials used for their production. The composition of this building material includes Portland cement, which after solidification has high strength and resistance to various climatic influences. Arbolite itself is considered an environmentally friendly material. In its production does not apply any synthetic substances and elements. Blocks are not exposed to fire and high temperatures, that is, the structure will be completely protected from fire. Also, natural phenomena do not affect the material.
The mass of arbolite blocks is less than the mass of bricks. This makes it possible to save on the construction of the foundation, since the entire structure will be quite light and will not create additional load on the ground.
Thanks to the raw materials used in their manufacture, the blocks are able to withstand fairly large mechanical and physical loads. The material itself is simply cut with a special tool (grinder).
Arbolite "breathes", which ensures good air exchange in the room, which means that the structure is protected from moisture and mold. Due to the fact that the blocks are heat conductors, the structure of wood concrete does not need additional insulation.

Negative points
Arbolite blocks have disadvantages, but in a small amount. The main disadvantage of this material is its high water permeability. Moisture can freely penetrate into the porous structure of blocks and destroy it.
To prevent this from happening, experts recommend making internal and external walls made of wood concrete in the shortest possible time. It is especially important to consider this during construction in humid climatic conditions.
Also, arbolite blocks can have disadvantages in their form. They come in different sizes, but there are no straight proportions in the block itself.
When choosing such a building material, it is worth clarifying the percentage of Portland cement, which ensures its strength.
Types of masonry
At the moment, the laying of arbolite blocks can be:
- in 1 block;
- in 0.5 blocks.
If the wall is bearing, then it is placed in one block or more. Interior walls are best done in 0.5 blocks.
Masonry arbolita can be performed in the same way as a simple building brick. In addition, it is still necessary to strengthen the walls of arbolitic blocks. A similar process is called masonry reinforcement. It is performed using special fittings.
Work is carried out on the first rows of arbolite blocks, under and above the window opening, above the doorway, in front of the roof structure. If the wall does not have any openings, then the masonry is reinforced in the front rows, in the center and at the end of the masonry.
On the surface of the arbolite block, a special strobe is made, into which the fittings are laid. Then it is poured with concrete mortar, and the next row of material is laid on it.
Masonry
There are special substances that are used for masonry of this building material. They are sold dry, and to bring them to a certain consistency, you need to add a certain amount of liquid and mix everything thoroughly.
You can make the solution yourself. To do this, you will need:
- cement;
- sand;
- water;
- connecting elements;
- hardeners.
All these ingredients are mixed in certain proportions in a concrete mixer, which will help to make the solution quickly and efficiently, as lumps are not allowed in the masonry, which can negatively affect the strength of the structure.
Process description
The work is quite simple, but before their implementation it is necessary to consult with specialists in this field. For laying arbolitovy blocks you will need:
- concrete mortar;
- plumb line;
- trowels;
- container for transferring the solution;
- building level;
- improvised tools.
Putting immediately up to ten rows of this material is not recommended. As a result, a shift in the plane of the wall can be obtained after the mortar hardens. The first two or three rows are laid immediately. After a few hours, the work can continue.
