After the construction of the house is completed, the stage begins when you consider your possessions with great pleasure. However, while there is no blind area of the building, it is too early to dream of long-term operation. Some consider this stage of construction unnecessary, but this is an erroneous opinion. It is worth learning how to properly blind around the house so that your home will please you as long as possible.
The duration of operation of any building is directly dependent on the state of its foundation, and significant loads are applied to it. Torrential autumn rains, heavy snowmelt in the spring, severe winter frosts - all this can create significant problems for the owner of the house. The outer walls of the foundation begin to collapse under the influence of water, and this becomes the cause of the distortion of the structure and the occurrence of cracks. That is why any builder is faced with the task not only to erect a building, but also to make sure that water is diverted from its walls. The blind area is the simplest and most effective way that solves a similar problem. Let's take a closer look at it. If we talk about how to properly
blind around the house, it should be said that it can be done in one of two ways.
The first option involves the use of paving slabs. It is worth considering how to properly blind around the house in this way. It is called hard, since in this case a cement mortar is used, which allows fixing the tiles in a certain position. First you need to determine the size of the site with the blind area. Its minimum width should be 50-60 centimeters, however, this should take into account the structural features of the roof. The blind area around the building should extend beyond its limits by 20 centimeters. With a shovel, a trench of the necessary width is dug to a depth of about 30 centimeters. The surface must be treated with herbicides, allowing to destroy the roots of plants. Next, the bottom is covered with geotextiles, while allowances should be left for the side walls of the trench. 15-20 centimeters of fine gravel are poured onto it, then sand, and everything is rammed. Thick
cement mortar must be laid out on the prepared "pillow", and on top of it you can place a tile. The blind area should stand for a couple of days, while loads should not affect it. When the solution has finally hardened, a more fluid composition should be prepared with which all joints are oiled. Pour the tiles with cold water, leave everything to stand a couple more days.
If we talk about how to properly blind around the house, you need to consider the second option. It is done simply. A trench of the required width is dug out, a geotextile is laid on its bottom, on top of which you can pour some of the soil. Next is a layer of coarse sand or small gravel. You can tamp it all, and
lay pavers or tiles on top. The seams between all the elements are filled with sand. Such a blind area will serve not only as a foundation protection, but also as a path around the house.
