Autonomous generator sets that generate electricity and are driven by internal combustion engines, allow you to work with power tools in the countryside and at any height of the house under construction. Since the small mechanization that is used in construction (concrete mixers, grinders, electric welding, drills and perforators) has already become an indispensable tool for builders, they can not do without electricity.
Given that construction work is carried out in large spaces (both horizontally and vertically), and builders need mobile power sources. Portable gasoline power plants are sold more often, and used less frequently. Their advantage in a wide power range from 700 to 1500 W and unpretentiousness in operation is substantially leveled by the cost of gasoline. For some reason, they all want to “eat” only high-quality A-95 gasoline.
Autonomous power plants, in addition to ICE, also have:
- a frame;
- fuel tank;
- generator.
Some portable power plants are also equipped with a starter and a battery. The generators of all plants are (almost) of the same type:
- housing
- stator
- excitation system,
- the rotor.
Those who often have to work without a centralized power supply prefer a diesel generator more. It is more economical in terms of fuel consumption, and diesel fuel is cheaper for it. Like any “medal”, it also has a “downside”. Power plants with diesel ICE are more bulky and more expensive. They make a louder noise and reluctantly start in the cold. But the consumer always has the right to choose.
Almost all portable power plants are air-cooled.
From lighting to electric welding - the range of applications of portable power plants in a construction site is so wide. Accordingly, their power is required different. And according to the voltage, they are divided into single-phase - 220 V and three-phase - 380 V. And for the rest they differ in the current strength that the generator generates. The most powerful are diesel portable welding generators, which generate currents up to 200 A. From them, you can power both a smaller power tool and lighting.
From the word “power plant” something monumental arises in the imagination. In the case of portable power plants, the size and weight are limited to the trunk of a car or car trailer, and the entire "staff" consists of one person.
