In 2013, the Shadowrun Returns project was introduced to the world of the gaming computer industry. Passing it became possible only thanks to users. The fact is that this game has a prototype that appeared in 1994. Amateurs nostalgic for the past universe decided to chip in and raised as much as $ 1.5 million. The developers had enough of this money for the so-called remake. And now, after almost 20 years, a new Shadow Runner appears.
How it all began?
How is the appearance of the Shadowrun Returns universe explained? The passage does not begin with a story, which, incidentally, is very interesting. If you do not familiarize yourself with it, then many questions arise regarding the world within the game. The fact is that in 2011, genetic expression began in people, and it could not be explained. So, among ordinary parents, gnomes and elves were born.
At the same time, Aboriginal tribes suddenly discover their ability to magic. They consider themselves strong enough to attack America and Canada. So the war begins.
Humanity is gradually dying out, and this is a merit not only of military operations. Earthquakes and diseases also hit him. Global corporations seize power by accumulating resources and money. They also conflict among themselves, although they do not declare this openly.
The main character in Shadowrun Returns, whose review begins with its creation, is a mercenary. In the game, it is called "running in the shade." He is hired by corporations or individuals. Since he does not have his own number, keeping track of him is impossible. Therefore, he is able to carry out tasks without consequences.
Character Creation
The player needs to determine the character with which he will interact with the Shadowrun Returns universe. Passage begins with its creation. To do this, the player selects the following points:

The main character

He looks through it with a chip built into his head. He was sent by a friend of the protagonist, he asks to find the killer, of course, for a fee. The murder investigation begins with a survey of witnesses and a search for evidence. It would seem a pretty boring start. However, later the main character finds himself in the thick of events of a universal scale. He has to reveal a system of conspiracies.
It should be noted that at each stage the player believes that the ending is already close. But even well-known characters from the game begin to show themselves from a new perspective. Therefore, there are a lot of plot twists and turns.
In fact, the main character deals with only three main things. Firstly, he talks with the creatures he meets on the way. Secondly, he needs to collect various things, starting from evidence and ending with all kinds of junk that will only take up space in the backpack. And, thirdly, the character has to fight opponents, of which there are a lot.
Gameplay
What primarily attracts players to RPGs, including Shadowrun Returns? Review, and any, first of all, considers the gameplay. After creating the character, you need to proceed with the distribution of skills and abilities. All of them are presented in large numbers. It is recommended that you develop several skills to bring them to perfection. There is not enough playing time for the development of all abilities. But all the better, because you can relive the storyline again, but with a different character.
The fights are not fast, they are turn-based, which is very convenient for the battle with several opponents. That is, they will depend not on the player’s reaction speed, but on his tactical knowledge.
Character control is carried out using the mouse, but there are keyboard shortcuts. The speed and result of all battles will depend on correctly distributed skills, as, indeed, in any other RPG.
Classes
The game has 6 classes, each of which is unique in its own way:
- Street Samurai. These are the strong and persistent warriors that are present in every RPG. Therefore, playing for this class is the easiest. The fact is that there is no need to understand the intricacies and nuances, everything is clear.
- Mages They do not fight, but throw various spells. Surprisingly, there is no mana (magical energy). However, each spell is updated for some time.
- Physical Adepts. They are a cross between a warrior and a magician.
- Shamans. By themselves, they are quite weak, but able to summon spirits who are very helping out in battles. Even shamans can communicate with the dead.
- Deckers. These are the hackers of the future who are able to influence the characters from the inside, thanks to the built-in chips and identification numbers.
- Riggers These are the techniques of the future. They are assisted by an army of droids.
The last two classes are complex enough to quickly go through the Shadowrun Returns. Codes, which are endless in number, will help you get used to, understand the storyline. For example, you can lower the console and enter "deathray" there, then all visible enemies will die, or restore health with the "restoreAP" command.
Crack
Unfortunately, there is only the English version of the game Shadowrun Returns. The crack is intended so that Russian-speaking players can fully enjoy it. You just need to download it. It should be noted that the standard program is suitable for any version of the game, including add-ons.
You also need to pay attention to the fact that crack will translate only textual information. That is, it makes it possible to fully participate in dialogues. If you download the latest version, then there will be no bugs and difficulties in translation - the player will understand what is said in the dialogs. The program helps especially when, based on the conversation, you need to continue the passage. Everything becomes clear and accessible.
The system requirements of the game can not be called serious. It runs on all Windows, starting with XP and ending with 7. It will also require 2 GB of RAM and the same amount of free space on the hard drive. The processor is at least 1.4GHz, and video cards are enough for 256 MB. Therefore, you can run it on virtually any computer or laptop.
Thus, the game Shadowrun Returns leaves a rather controversial impression. On the one hand, it is completely linear, there are no branches. But on the other hand, a full-fledged world with different and multifaceted characters more than covers this drawback. Therefore, even if the game is not able to attract every gamer, it definitely has the right to exist with its audience.
