Surface treatment before painting or wallpapering will increase the life of these materials. A primer is also used for deep priming of facade walls, while strengthening loose and crumbling surfaces.

It is a white polymer emulsion that dries quickly enough and does not contain solvents.
Consumption depends on the absorbency of the substrate and averages from 70 to 100 g / m2. It will take a maximum of 2 hours to fully dry. It is recommended to store the primer and carry out all work related to its application at a temperature of 2 to 25 ° C. Shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture indicated on the package.

Due to its high penetrating ability, the Knauf Tiefengrund primer significantly strengthens the surface of the base on which it is applied. It is deeply absorbed into porous materials, fills all the free space between solid particles, and after the water evaporates, glues them together. Thus, the structure of the material is additionally cemented. Due to its vapor permeability, it is able to provide a comfortable microclimate in the room, allowing the walls to “breathe”. The primer of this brand is hypoallergenic, does not contain toxic substances and is absolutely safe for health. It can be used for both internal and external work, subject to temperature conditions.
Improved adhesion of the substrate after coating with a primer ensures firm fixation of materials. In addition, their service life is significantly increased. Primer "Knauf Tiefengrund" differs in deep penetration, and after drying forms a strong film, due to which the consumption of paints and varnishes applied to the surface is significantly reduced.
Application technology
Before applying the primer, the surface must be prepared. It is cleaned of old paint, grease stains, dirt and dust, and then dried. The prepared surface must be absolutely clean, dry and durable.
Before starting work, you need to thoroughly mix the contents of the package to a homogeneous mass, because the solution has the property to settle. Dilute with water is not required. It is not recommended to add to the primer and any other materials. This may adversely affect its properties. The Tiefengrund Knauf primer is applied with a roller, brush or brush. It spreads easily, forming a uniform thin layer.
If the surface coated with a primer has high hygroscopicity and porosity, then the composition is applied twice. The second time the primer is used only when the first layer is completely dry, but it is advisable not to delay in time, since the surface to be treated can become dusty.
At the end of work, all tools are thoroughly rinsed with water. This must be done immediately, because the dried primer "Knauf Tiefengrund" is removed only mechanically.
