Measures for tailoring dresses
The fewer measurements are required to build a drawing, the easier it is to build the pattern itself. In this case, we need to determine the length of the product. In our dress there is no neck and shoulders - the whole product is held on the chest. Therefore, the upper part of the product does not begin from the shoulder, but from the point above the chest. It is from this place that you need to start the countdown. We put a centimeter tape in the center above the chest and fix it with your hand, and release the second edge of the tape so that it freely falls down. On the tape, select the product length label (DI), which suits us.
In the article below, we take all the numbers approximately, if necessary, they can be changed. For a dress with a shuttlecock on your shoulders, you can stop at a measurement of DI 120 cm. The shuttlecock itself can be chosen arbitrarily in length, approximately 25 cm, taking into account all the hemlines.
To determine the width of the shuttlecock, it is necessary to measure the circumference of the shoulders. It is equal to 100 cm.
To determine the width of the dress, measure the circumference of the chest over the chest. It is equal to 85 cm.

Pattern of the selected model

With the shuttle, everything is very simple. It is 100 cm wide and 25 cm long. We build a rectangle using a ruler and chalk. Two rectangles of fabric need to be cut. In order to make a beautiful assembly, you need to take 2 widths of fabric. If you do not add this width, then no wrinkles and assemblies will work out, in appearance it will be a simple canvas made of matter. The patterns of the shelves and the front of the back are constructed according to this scheme. CI = 120, chest circumference 85 cm. We build a rectangle with such data. To build the armholes from the upper points of the rectangle along the upper line to the center, lay 8 cm, and down 13 cm. On the left and right sides, we connect these points with rounded lines, drawing armholes. When cutting, you will need to cut two such details. Thus, the shuttlecock and the dress itself will provide the necessary splendor and lightness. Slim dress with a frill
If the dress needs to be fitted, it is advisable to use stretch material. In this case, you need to take another measure: chest girth (OG). A centimeter tape should be laid along the most protruding points of the chest and shoulder blades. It turns out the exhaust gas size = 94 cm. Now we need to divide 94 cm into two, we get 47 cm. We build a rectangle: length = 120 cm, width = 47 cm. The depth of the armhole remains 13 cm, and the width can be reduced by 1-2 cm. The stretch fabric fits the figure well and the model of the dress with shuttlecocks on the shoulders will turn out fitted.
In the first embodiment, you can not leave allowances on the fabric for seams, in the second version with steak fabric, you need to add 1 cm. It is better to sew a product from elastic fabric on an overlock. If there is only a sewing machine, it is better to work with a double needle or a needle for stretch fabrics.
We assemble parts in one product
First of all, we sew the side seams of the dress, process them on the overlock. Now we process the armhole so that the fabric does not crumble along the edges, and we tuck it by 1 cm, lay a line.
We cut two parts of the shuttlecock on the sides, we process the edges on the slices. We bend the lower part of the shuttlecock by 1 cm and lay an even line, after ironing the seams.
We put a shuttlecock over the dress and pin it, making sure that the parts are attached exactly on both sides, we attach it to the dress. When two parts are sewn together, it is much more convenient to form a drawstring for the elastic.
We twist the upper edge of the product 2 times 1.5 cm and lay the line so that inside there is space for the elastic. The seam does not reach the end of about 3-4 cm.
In the gap left we thread the gum. For convenience, the edge of the gum can be fixed on a hairpin or pin and go inside the drawstring, stretching the gum along its entire length. The drawer must be pulled back until the top of the product is snug against the figure. We cut the remaining gum, sew the edges. Now the remaining gap can be sewn.
The dress with a frill on the shoulders is almost ready. It remains to process the bottom. We twist the edge two times by 1 cm, stitch it. The product is ready.
