Anatoly Naiman was born in 1936, on April 23, in Leningrad. He was born in the family of Heinrich Kopelevich - a staunch Tolstoyan engineer, and Asya Davidovna, a doctor. He graduated from the 222nd high school in 1953. He became a student at the Leningrad Technological Institute. In 1958 he graduated from this educational institution.
