The area of the river basin is 6600 square kilometers. And, despite the fact that this river is only a tributary, it is estimated that its length exceeds the length of the Svir itself by twelve kilometers.
In ancient times, it was on this river that ships that carried tribute to the royal treasury went. Even in ancient birch bark letters there are references to precisely these places.

The Pasha River is a winding pond with a rather rapid current. There are more than seventy rapids. It belongs to the 6th class of shipping and is most often used for transporting timber. Amazingly beautiful beaches, decorated with centuries-old pines and firs, have steep descents and ascents. In some places, the banks of the river decline and dissolve in endless kilometers of fields.
Pebbles, limestone slabs and large mighty boulders are found in the rapids. But the Pasha River can also boast of amazing sandy beaches, most of which are located in its central part.

The Pasha River originates from the lake, so many dams have been built at the mouth. Water in most areas is transparent and clean. If you go on a boat and look down, the bottom is clearly visible. Some river inhabitants will not escape your gaze.
There are very few wetlands in this river. They are mainly found in the lower reaches. The Pasha River of the Leningrad Region is one of the few turbulent rivers in this region. Every second she discharges more than 65 cubic meters of water into Svir. The river feeds mainly from melt spring waters. It begins to freeze, as a rule, at the end of November, and in the last days of April it again begins to make a lively noise.

As we have said, the river is used as navigable. In addition, the water from Pasha goes to industrial (a wood processing plant is located on one of the banks) and municipal water supply.
