Historical reference
Until 1865, a smelter existed in the present Motovilikhinsky district of Perm. It ceased to exist due to the fact that the buildings of the more modern Perm Cannon Plant were erected at that time. The old buildings were completely demolished, the territory was cleared. The place could well turn into a wasteland, but it got a chance to become one of the most beautiful corners of the city.
The park was originally under the supervision of the factory management and local residents. During its existence, he changed several names:
- official - “Molotov Garden”, “Sverdlov Garden”;
- assigned to it by the townspeople - “Garden at the old factory”, “Angel Garden”, “Garden of Eden”.
The appearance of the park also changed. The territory with several alleys gradually turned into a place where residents spent their leisure time not only walking along the paths. During the Soviet period, venues were organized and equipped where drafts and chess tournaments were held, musical groups and folk ensembles performed, poetry evenings and cultural events were held. The most memorable event of that time was the arrival and performance of Vladimir Mayakovsky in 1928.
The first small reconstruction park "Garden of Eden" in Perm moved in 1950. Alleys and grounds were put in order, plantings were planted, lawns were restored, sculptural compositions traditional for that time dedicated to labor, study and sports were installed. The park became the place where movies were played in the evenings in the summer, and fairs were held on weekends. In winter, it was time for ice fun, a skating rink was pouring, slides were being built.
From time to time, the Garden of Eden park in Perm came to desolation, but was restored again and again. Its global reconstruction took place in 2009 at the initiative of the mayor. The canal was cleared, alley alteration and lighting works were carried out, new buildings were erected, and the old ones were demolished or restored. The new opening of the garden was timed to the day of the city - June 12, 2010.

There is a statue in the park. This is a black dog of the Newfoundland breed, a common diver. It was established in honor of the canine dog J. Marcodes by his wife, Permyachka.
