Anyone who has ever encountered construction or repair understands perfectly the problem of correctly determining the dimensions of doorways. If it is made smaller than the standard dimensions of the door leaf with a box, then you need to buy new doors or break the finished wall. If more, you will have to make doors to order, and this is much more expensive.
Standard input group sizes
During construction during the construction of walls, the openings of windows and doors are always laid under the selected size of door frames, but there is always the opportunity to slightly adjust it to the specific dimensions of the door you like.
With all the abundance of door leafs of various sizes and shapes, there are well-defined standard sizes. So, most of the door panels produced in post-Soviet countries (Ukraine, Russia, Belarus) are produced 2 meters high, and from 60 to 90 centimeters wide. For imported door leafs of European production (Spain, Italy, Poland, Finland), slightly different standards are characteristic. For example, the height of the door is often 220 cm, and the width may vary by several centimeters in one direction or another. If you decide to put the doors of a foreign manufacturer, then think carefully: if you need to replace them, it will be difficult to find the appropriate size in a few years.
The nuances of the selection of entrance doors
If in multi-storey residential buildings the dimensions of the entrance doors are made, as a rule, standard - 90 cm wide, then in private construction the entrance groups are not only single, but also double - up to 1.5 meters. The size of door frames should be selected taking into account the fact that through them large items (furniture, household appliances) will be brought into the room. Most often, the front door is made with a reinforced box, and in recent years, metal doors have been preferred.
The size of the door frame of the interior door
The dimensions of interior doors are usually dictated by the size of the rooms or corridors into which they exit. If the room is large, a double-leaf door can be installed (opening 110 cm). In small apartments, room doors are more often single-wing, 80-90 cm wide. Less is not desirable, since furniture should pass into the opening.
If a person first encountered this problem on his own, then you need to take into account that the size of the door frames in thickness is from 7.5 to 11 cm. By measuring the thickness of the wall into which the box will be installed, you can find out if you need an additional strip.
In this case, it is more expedient to purchase the complete door unit, where there is a door leaf already hung with hinges on the box, and it remains only to insert it into the opening and fix it correctly.
