Another theory claims that around 1200 BC, the Welsh Corgi were already alive and well. Translated from Celtic welsh is Welsh, and corgi is a dog. Initially, the Welsh Corgi Cardigan and Welsh Corgi Pembroke were representatives of the same breed. About 80 years ago, they became separate lines. Now both the one and the other breed are recognized by FCI.
The Corgi dog breed is currently very popular everywhere. If before they were bred to protect cows and catch rats, now they have grown to famous participants and winners of various exhibitions and shows.
But what about the character?
What features does this breed have? Corgi dogs are flexible. We can say that this is a family dog. He will become a universal favorite in the house. This small animal does not take up much space and gets along well with any inhabitants of the house. Corgi dogs are very smart and obedient, kind with friends, but careful with new people. They are loyal to children and can become wonderful nannies.
In comparison, cardigans are not as sociable as Pembrokes. They love walking on the street, where they are allowed to run and fool around. It is necessary to constantly monitor the pet, because this breed is distinguished by incredible courage? Corgi dogs can get involved in fights with individuals several times larger than them. If the owners are not nearby, the battle for them can end very badly. Corgi does not require much personal care; it is enough to clean the wool with hard brushes and provide water procedures as needed. The breed of dog Corgi is characterized by small size, they grow up to 30 cm and gain up to 15 kg of weight. Probably, these creatures fully compensate for their shortcomings in size with liveliness of character and the amount of positive energy.
Outwardly, cardigans are slightly different from pembrokes. If the latter look like foxes with golden wool, a fit of the head and shape, then cardigans are endowed with a more decisive appearance. The Pembroke Corgi dog breed has long, wide-set ears, and the muzzle seems to be lit up with a friendly smile.
Corgi's coat is silky and shiny. Popular colors: red-white, pure black, deer or brindle. Animals will have to be kept under control, as they like to overeat. Training
