A few words about the man who wrote The Snow Queen
Andersen was born on April 2, 1805 with a poor shoemaker and laundresses. From the age of eleven, the boy was forced to start working as an apprentice. His favorite pastime was writing and an impromptu puppet theater, which the closed boy arranged for his peers. Hans grew up a nervous and emotional child, his father's stories about his royal origin made a great impression on him. When the child was 14 years old, he left for Copenhagen to get a theater. The lanky teenager with a long nose was not immediately taken to the stage, but he was so persistent and excited that he was accepted into the theater world to play not the main roles. Then he began to create the first works of the one who wrote the "Snow Queen" and glorified his northern country.
Fairy tales
Their Andersen began to write since 1835, becoming more and more famous. The Danish author also tried to establish himself as a playwright and novelist, but the fame of the storyteller always blocked his other literary attempts. Andersen created the last tale in 1872. The story tells about the adventures and trials of the little girl Gerda, who saved her friend and named brother Kai from the spell of the evil northern sorceress. Like every Andersen tale, this plot encrypts the thought of the power of love that can defeat any evil. In each of the seven chapters Gerda shows selflessness and generosity, which become the key to her future path to her goal.
The independent life of the "Snow Queen"
Over the history of its existence, the fairy tale has survived dozens of adaptations. In addition, she inspired other authors to create original works. Therefore, the answer to the question of who wrote "The Snow Queen" may be a reference to the play of the same name by Eugene Schwartz, created based on Andersen's fairy tale, as well as about the fantastic novel by American Joan Vinge, where the action is transferred to the fictional planet Tiamat. Here, the Snow Queen is called Arienrod, and she, in order to steal the right of ownership from the ruler of the summer, comes up with a cunning plan.
