"Condition Zero": the history of creation, the difference from other games in the series

Every gamer in the world knows about a series of CS games. "Condition Zero" is a classic representative of the genre shooter that has long been loved by users. The game shows excellent (by the standards of the early 00's) 3D graphics with a first-person view. Five companies have been involved in the development of Condo Zero for 4 years. The publisher was the well-known Vivendi Corporation, from which Valve later bought the rights.

Beginning of the development of "Counter-Strike: Conditioner Zero"

Raw game

The year 2000 was chosen as the start time for development. At that time, the Rogue Enternainment studio was engaged in the creation of "KS: Condition Zero". Americano McGee helped her with this, but the next year, both of them went broke and were forced to stop their activities.

It’s hard to believe, but like the well-known Dota game, “Contra Condision Zero” was originally just a card with the ability to save hostages in “Half Life”. The idea of creating an independent game based on a successful project began to emerge in 1999. The authors of the COP card were invited to Valve for the development of the Condition Zero and other parts of the series. So, in 2000, the first independent "Contra" was released.

For the first time on a full-fledged game "KS: Condin Zero" could be seen at the May exhibition E3 in 2001. Although it was still a crude product, but even he was able to cause a stir in the circles of the world community of gamers. At that time, Rogue was already closed, and GearBox had to present the gameplay. The people who worked in this company knew their job, as they helped to create the very first parts of Counter Strike, as well as add-ons for Half-Life.

GearBox Innovations

GearBox Logo

The company introduced a ton of updates to Counter-Strike: Condin Zero, which made Valve commercial success. They significantly improved the graphics of the game, having improved the old engine. Thus, little things like leaves on trees, police helmets and much more began to look much more realistic, new types of weapons and equipment were added. For the first time, a storyline was developed for a single game without the Internet.

GearBox were thorough in their work, but could not fit into the schedule. They broke a lot of deadlines. Ultimately, Ritual Enternainment was given the right to develop the Condition Zero. The new studio decided to redo everything in the bud. They developed more than 20 independent missions, where the player was given the opportunity to fight terrorists in different parts of the world. Internet mode supplemented the ability to complete these quests. In parallel with the PC version of Ritual Enternainment, the game was developed on the Xbox console. GearBox did not satisfy publishers, and the game was sent for revision by Turtles Rock Studio.

Work Turtles Rock Studio

It was assumed that the long-awaited release will be scheduled for 2003, but the project again failed, the developers also did not have time to do everything on time. It took a lot of time to improve the artificial intelligence system for both the player’s assistants and opponents.

New missions

The output of the game was continually transferred. She could come out in 2002, the last milestone was March 2004. The case was aggravated by a lawsuit from Vivendi Corporation against Valve, where the latter defended the rights to the publishing company Kondishn Zero.

In addition to all the failures that occurred with the developers and publishers, one more problem was added. The computers of Valve and Turtles Rock Studio workers were hacked, and the second half of Half Life and the Condicion Zero game itself were leaked to the Internet. Pirates illegally sold gameplay under the guise of a complete and finished product. But even this could not hinder the success of the official product. The released game had a lot of advantages, the bugs were fixed, the graphics were at a completely different level, the storyline was greatly changed. Also included with the product were cut scenes that seriously complemented the interest in the game.

Appearance of "Cop: Condin Zero" in Russia

In the vastness of the Russian Federation, the game was transferred even more. For the sake of greater profit, Russian companies decided to release the game in Anthology, a collection of games of the same series. The release was scheduled for 2008. The game went almost unnoticed by the Russian public. Nevertheless, the number of online players who pass these cards so far amounts to tens of thousands per day. In many ways, the game stays afloat due to the fact that the “Condition Zero” comes complete with the classic “Counter Strike”.

Game process

Gameplay Condo Zero

The game became the ideological successor to the series of COP. These are all the same anti-terrorist operations in which you can participate on both sides. The gameplay is the control of a character whose goal is to destroy the enemy. In some missions, to win it is enough to free the hostages or to install (deactivate) the bomb. The main difference from 1.6 is the artificial intelligence of bots, performed at a completely different level. Enemies adjust to the structure of the map, and the allies report their movement and draw their own conclusions on this basis. Single player is also very different elaboration, as previously in the missions simply did not have a plot. The game for several players on the network has not received any changes - this is the same "Counter Strike", only much more beautiful.
