In his stories, M. Zoshchenko not only plays up comic situations that he masterfully notes in life, but exaggerates them to the limit. The story "Aristocrat" Zoshchenko turned into a little tragicomedy. But we are talking about a natural trip to the theater for any person.

The story is spoken on behalf of a plumber named Grigory Ivanovich, who sees aristocracy in the presence of a hat, a pug sitting on his hands, golden teeth in his mouth and fashionable stockings. Like in a song about Marusya, who was walking on a sea sand. For a complete set, the lady plumber she liked lacks a waist in a corset. It is these, so to speak, ladies that Grigory Ivanovich liked, but after a closer acquaintance with them, he changed his mind.
Attempt to get close
At first glance, Grigory Ivanovich was carried away by a lady whose golden tooth shone in her mouth. He did not know how to care and acted directly - he went into her apartment and asked if the water supply works - he had more imagination for more. But the main comic of the story is the presence of primitive vocabulary used by the narrator. Aloud, he does not call a lady by her first name, but a citizen, and thinks to herself that she is "fry". That is, there is some neglect on his part. With this, the plumber wants to show that, they say, he does not give a damn about the aristocracy of a citizen, since now everyone is equal.
Walks
Further events developed as follows: after about a month, “lovers” began to walk along the streets together. At the same time, Grigory Ivanovich felt very awkward. He did not know what to talk with a fellow traveler. In addition, pacing, leading the lady by the arm, he was uncomfortable in front of acquaintances.
The plumber felt like he was caught by a pike. Thus, Zoshchenko continues the comic action. The "Aristocrat" (a summary of the story is presented in the article) will soon show itself in all its glory to both the reader and the narrator.
Going to the theater
Further, the so-called aristocrat herself asked for a theater. It must be assumed that she was not too interested in the performance, but rather, the intermission, in which the described tragicomic event will occur. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. So, the heroes went to the theater, because by chance Grigory Ivanovich got two tickets, but only in different places. One - on the ground, where the gallant gentleman put the "aristocrat", and the second place was in the gallery. Our plumber went there and, of course, quickly getting bored, went into the lobby. There at intermission, he met his companion, heading straight for the buffet. With a wide gesture, Grigory Ivanovich invited the lady to eat one cake. So wittily and comically ridicules the tradesman in the theater Zoshchenko. The "Aristocrat" (a brief summary of the story of the same name we continue to expound) will behave differently from what our hero expected from her.
In the buffet
Grigory Ivanovich froze his heart when he saw the lecherous, in his opinion, lady's walk and her incredible gluttony. She grabbed and ate a cake, then another, then, without stopping, set to work on the third. But Grigory Ivanovich was, to put it mildly, not with the money. And when the "aristocrat" grabbed the fourth, the gentleman could not stand it and shouted that the "crappy woman" would put the confectionery back.
With a sad irony, which is almost invisible behind the comic of the situation, Zoshchenko continues the story. The "Aristocrat" (the summary of the story is drawing to a close) was confused and frightened. And the vile barman demanded money for four cakes, since the last, uneaten, was crumpled and bitten. Then an audience gathered and began to discuss what had happened and argue about whether the cake was bitten or not. As a result, people at intermission had better fun than at a theater performance. When Grigory Ivanovich scraped the whole trifle, he barely had enough money to pay four cakes. Then he proudly offered the "aristocrat" to eat the last treat, but she was embarrassed and refused. And then unexpectedly on the scene brings a new, quick and nimble, character Zoshchenko. “Aristocrat” (we continue to set out the short content of the story in this article) is a story in which the author finally brought the situation to an anecdotal degree by introducing a flamboyant, uncle who had expressed a desire to eat some cake. In this case, the "aristocrat" silently looked at how a person instantly ate a treat. This is for the money of Grigory Ivanovich!
The final
And again our heroes went to inspect the opera, because they obviously did not know how to listen. And each during the second act he considered what to say to each other. They returned in deathly silence, and at the house, a lady in a bourgeois tone said that there was nothing to go to the theater without money. But Grigory Ivanovich did not keep silent, but explained that there was no happiness in money. Since then, he has not liked the "aristocrats." On this note ends the story "Aristocrat" Zoshchenko. The retelling, unfortunately, does not convey the vocabulary used by the characters, namely, it most characterizes the characters.
Zoshchenko, “Aristocrat”: analysis
It is ridiculous and sad to read this story, which tells about the 20-30s of the last century, when a social layer surfaced that represented itself as cultural and thinking. The main character is pathetic and ridiculous in his ridiculous attempts to care for a woman. A man is able to talk extremely monosyllabic and only about the water supply system, in which he is well versed. Even at the theater, he asks his companion not about whether she liked the performance (he just doesn’t think of this question), but whether the water supply works here. But the "aristocrat" is no better than Grigory Ivanovich. In the theater, which in the story symbolizes culture, the lady also does not care about what is happening on the stage. Her whole interest focused on the buffet, in which she did not consider it necessary to moderate her appetites and foresee that the gentleman might not have enough money. The lack of culture, the dense ignorance and bad manners of both heroes are shown in full view.
Sad irony shines through the lines of the story. Did Mikhail Zoshchenko dream of such a Russia ? "Aristocrat" is a vivid mockery of the disgusting, arrogant, absurd philistinism, characterized by a mass of unreasonable claims and huge conceit.
