Pitched roof types in individual construction

In individual construction, usually only pitched roof types are found that are capable of providing a natural discharge of atmospheric precipitation. They can also act as a separate decorative element, successfully complementing the main part of the structure. In the construction of such structures, the device of the rafter system plays an important role, since the reliability of the entire structure as a whole depends on the correct execution. Even the simplest types of wooden roofs must withstand roofing, which prevents the penetration of moisture into the building. Therefore, for load-bearing elements, it is recommended to choose strong wood without large knots, impregnated with antiseptic agents.

Types of roofs
The simplest in terms of construction are pent roof types, which are very common in our country. With this option, the plane of the roof rests on the walls of the building, which must have different heights to provide a drain. This kind of upper part construction is mainly used for farm buildings, verandas, terraces, garages and some decorative elements. Only in rare cases can you see a small residential house under one ramp.

Types of Roofs
Although the above types of roofs are economical, requiring a minimum amount of building materials during construction, it was the gable structures that managed to gain popularity. Thanks to them, it is possible to use the internal space as an attic or attic. Two planes can be at different angles, connecting at the top. The resulting space under the ramps is limited to the gables that are located opposite each other. Such a wide distribution of such designs is due to their functionality and cost-effectiveness.

Types of wooden roofs
Other types of house roofs are used much less frequently in temperate latitudes, but they are common in regions with strong winds. There, for example, hip or tent structures are more often arranged, which allow reducing the wind load on the upper part of the structure. This is made possible thanks to the streamlined shape, which is defined by four slopes. The hipped roof is a pyramid with four faces. When constructing a dwelling with sides in the form of a square or an equilateral polygon, it is performed quite often. The hip structure is characterized in that two opposing slopes form trapezoids, not triangles.

Modern buildings, distinguished by special architectural refinements, require complex types of roofs. In many situations, a multi-pliers design is made. However, it is very difficult to implement the upper part with your own hands, therefore, in the vast majority of cases, they turn to professionals. In the process, you have to deal with a large number of ribs, skates, valleys and so on. An apartment building with such a roof can stand out from thousands of other buildings with its original appearance.
