At one time, having at least a pair of super-fashionable nylon tights was the dream of every Soviet girl. Today, they make up a significant part of each girl’s cost for studs, as they break very quickly and become unusable. If your wardrobe has old nylon tights, especially multi-colored ones, then they can find interesting applications. If not, in specialized stores you can find everything to make beautiful flowers from nylon and wire.
Materials that will be required
To make a single flower or a complex composition, you will need:
- Plain, multi-colored, openwork or nylon with lurex. When choosing a color in the first two cases, it should be noted that when stretched on a wire, its color will become lighter.
- Stamens. You can make them yourself by dipping thick threads in PVA and attaching heads from a mixture of clay and glue to them, or you can purchase them in a special store.
- Wire. Several types of different thicknesses may be needed, including those with a green plastic coating for making stems.
- Threads. It is permissible to use the usual ones for sewing or special ones that can not be tied, but fixed by simple winding.
- Teip tape green.
- Ribbons for decorating compositions.
- Fishing line.
Special fixtures and tools
To create a flower from wire and nylon, you will also need:
- bases for buds, which are dense balls with a diameter of 2-7 cm;
- forms for frames with a smooth and corrugated edge, which are sold in sets of several pieces;
- sepals, plastic leaves;
- scissors, pliers, pliers;
- glue gun.
How to make the basic elements
Regardless of which flowers you are going to make of nylon and wire, you need to learn how to make the base of a petal or leaf.
To do this, you need:
- take a piece of wire 3 times longer than the length of the petal, if it should be round, and 2.5 - for elongated;
- give the desired shape with scissors, using them to create cloves;
- curl the ends of the wire;
- if there are sharp teeth on the leaf or petal, they must be coated with glue;
- wait until dry;
- cut off a piece of capron the size of a leaf + 1 cm on each side;
- pass along the edge of a piece of kapron fishing line;
- put the resulting little case on the frame;
- pulling;
- form a screed at the base of the petal;
- if you could not find the nylon of the desired color, paint the blanks and leave to dry.
Assembly
When you have the right amount of petals and leaves ready, you can start making a flower out of them from wire and nylon. For assembly, as a rule, the tails of the petals are bent and glued with hot melt or the ends of the frame are twisted.
There is another method that involves folding the petals together and wrapping them at the base, first with a thread and then with a green tape. Depending on whether it is a bud or a blossoming flower is made from wire and nylon, the petals are left pressed to each other or straightened. In addition, if we are talking about the option with stamens, first in the middle you need to put such threads with the head of the desired length.
Flower of wire and nylon
Now that you have an idea of how leaves and petals are made from these materials, you can try to create a beautiful half-opened rose with leaves on a long stem. It will be required:
- kapron of red and green flowers;
- wire with a diameter of 0.5 mm;
- threads of red, green colors;
- 3 mm diameter wire for the stem;
- molds for petals;
- the middle for a flower made of styrofoma, which can be replaced with a piece of cotton wool tightly wrapped in crepe paper;
- dark green teip tape.
Instruments

- clear nail polish.
Flowers from wire and nylon: a master class
To make an elegant rose perform a series of actions:
- using a wire (0.5 mm) of red color, make the basis for the petal;
- leave a tail with a length of 1.5 cm;
- 5 petals are made on the basis of mold No. 6, 4 more of the same, but lengthening and giving ovality using a cap from the handle;
- another 5 are made using mold No. 7;
- wrap each frame for the petal with a piece of capron and cut off the excess.
- wrap the petal with another layer of nylon.
Rose assembly
There should be 4 layers of petals in total. First, 5 of them of size No. 7 are joined together. Then 3 are elongated, made according to template No. 6, and 3 are the same, but ordinary.
The last layer should consist of 3 petals. Two of them are ordinary and 1 is elongated. All three are made according to pattern No. 6.
Thereafter:
- cut off all the excess sticking pieces of wire;
- take the middle for the flower from the styrofoma;
- using the tip of pliers, increase the hole in the base and insert the tip of the flower there;
- they fit the middle of the rose with a capron of red color;
- cut off excess;
- wrap the middle with 3 petals of the inner layer;
- bend up the next three;
- wrap them around the middle;
- continue to bend up and the rest of the petals.
Leaves
For their manufacture, form No. 4 and a wire for flowers made of green nylon (diameter 0.5 mm) will be required.
The wire loop is shaped into a thin, elongated oval. Wrap with green nylon. A drop of clear nail polish is applied to the tip. Then:
- form 5 such leaves;
- with the help of a thread fix them under a rose flower;
- wrap the junction with a green tape.
