Do-it-yourself air conditioning installation

Today it is simply impossible to imagine our life without air conditioning. They not only maintain indoor air at a certain temperature, but also purify it, and therefore are a necessary subject of household appliances not only at the workplace, but also in the home.

The first window air conditioner, which worked on a safe for humans, appeared in 1931 and worked only for air cooling. However, at that time in our country air conditioners were considered an inadmissible luxury and propaganda of a bourgeois lifestyle.

Indeed, abroad, air conditioners have spread long ago. In the 60s, air conditioners began to be produced there, capable of not only creating a pleasant coolness in the room, but also heating it. And when finally in the 70s the production of air conditioners in Russia began, most of them went for export.

It is difficult to say whether the air conditioner is being installed abroad with one's own hands or not, the important thing is that at present these devices are increasingly entering our lives, especially in large megalopolises. For example, in 2010 in Moscow, because of the abnormal heat, it was impossible to freely buy air conditioning, and those who managed to purchase this unit had to wait three weeks before installing it. Therefore, for many, installing an air conditioner with your own hands has become a must.

Air conditioners come in three types: domestic, industrial and semi-industrial. Therefore, before installing the air conditioner, you need to study existing models and choose the most suitable. Of household air conditioners, the simplest model is a monoblock window or window. The positive characteristics of this unit include affordable price and reliability. Moreover, you can save on installation, as it’s right to install an air conditioner, which is a primitive window monoblock, it is clear to every rugged man.

To install it, you do not need any special skills or special tools. But the bad thing is that the candy bar is blocking part of the window. In addition to the fact that window monoblocks degrade the illumination of the room, they have a number of disadvantages. Due to the fact that the processor is located in all monoblocks inside, an increased noise level is created in the room during the operation of the air conditioner. The second disadvantage of such air conditioners is that they cannot be blocked by curtains, otherwise they will condition the air between the curtains and the window, and not in the room. A certain problem is created by the decorative grilles installed on the windows.

Around the world, the most popular type of HVAC equipment is the so-called split-system, which consists of two units. Installing such systems is no longer as simple as installing a window-type air conditioner, since the individual parts must be correctly connected.

Therefore, installing this type of air conditioner with your own hands is of course possible, but it is associated with a certain risk, since the consequences can be different. If installed incorrectly, in the best case, you will have to redo everything, and in the worst, expensive equipment can simply fail. In both cases, installing an air conditioner with your own hands will not save your money, but on the contrary, will increase cash costs.

The difference between split systems is that the noisy part - the compressor, is taken out to the street, and the second part is placed indoors in any convenient place, and is not tied to the window. The unit can be installed on the wall or floor, or even on the ceiling. You can even hide it behind a suspended ceiling.

According to the principle of installation, split systems differ on floor-ceiling, wall, as well as channel and cassette. Externally, the blocks of all these systems have the same appearance, so if you decide to install yourself, before you install the air conditioner, carefully read the instructions.
