The medicine has a wide spectrum of action: it is used both for prophylaxis and for getting rid of worms, round and ribbon. Prazitel for dogs is highly effective, which is confirmed by both veterinarians and owners of tetrapods. Three active components of the drug can effectively combat parasites. Each of the components affects the worms in its own way and therefore does not give them a single chance for survival. Release form, composition
Prazitel for dogs is available in several forms - tablets and suspension. This allows the owner to choose the most convenient drug for use, as well as calculate the correct dosage based on the weight of the animal.
Suspension for dogs "Prazitel" is more in demand, because it is very convenient to give it to an animal. In the kit, in addition to detailed instructions, there is also a syringe dispenser, which allows you to measure the required dosage for the animal with little effort. Three active components adversely affect parasites:

- Striking Plus. This medicine can be used for tetrapods with different body weights, different ages (not earlier than two weeks of age). One tablet of the drug contains the same concentration of active components as a suspension for adults - the maximum amount. As for excipients, it is starch, milk sugar, gelatin.
- "Prazitel" for puppies and cats. This type of tablet is endowed with a more gentle composition, so it is most often recommended for children. There is no fenbendazole, and the remaining active substances are the same as in the suspension for puppies. Auxiliary components are the same as in the tablets of the previous type.

Pharmacological properties
Prazitel for dogs is prescribed for various types of internal parasites. The stage of development does not affect the effect, the drug is effective both against adults and from eggs and larvae. Efficiency is achieved thanks to a competent composition, the main components of which are three active substances. Let's talk about their impact in more detail so that it is clear how this works.
- Praziquantel, entering the dog’s body, begins to look for worms. Finding it, it penetrates the cell membrane, begins to destroy it, which leads to high permeability of calcium, and its large accumulation in the body leads to paralysis, then death occurs.
- Pyrantela pamoat affects the nervous system of parasites. The substance blocks the transmission of nerve impulses, and this leads to death.
- Fenbendazole, which is not in the composition of preparations for babies and cats, is endowed with the ability to act not only on adult parasites, but also on their offspring in the form of eggs and larvae. This component destroys the cellular tubules of the intestines of helminths, and they cease to exist.
Once in the gastrointestinal tract of the animal, the active substances quickly penetrate the blood, which carries them throughout the body. The components are removed from the body of the four-legged within two days.
Indications for use
Prescribe a drug to treat:
- nematodoses that occur due to roundworms;
- opisthorchiasis;
- cestodoses resulting from infection by tapeworms and their vital functions;
- mixed invasions.
The drug is used not only for treatment, but also as a prophylaxis of infection. To protect your pet, you need to give him an anthelmintic agent on a quarterly basis, as well as additionally before mating and before vaccination.
Prazitel for dogs: instructions for use
This drug is good because it is not necessary to provide a hunger strike to the animal before its use. It is necessary to give medicine once - before morning feeding. Shake suspension and mix with food. Feed the dog. If the pet refuses to take the medicine like that, then act forcibly. Put the right amount of the drug into the dispenser, pour it on the root of the tongue, close the jaws of the dog, hold its head up until it swallows the medicine. The tablets should also be crushed and added to the feed. You may have to give their dog forcibly.
The dose depends on the weight of the animal and the type of drug chosen:
- Prazitel for dogs of small breeds and puppies in the form of a suspension without fenbendazole is calculated at 1 ml for each kilogram of weight. For adults and large breeds, such a medicine is not suitable, since it belongs to weak ones.
- Suspension with fenbendazole is suitable only for medium, large breeds, as well as adults. Here, the calculation of one milliliter is already 10 kilograms.
- Pills for puppies (simply Prazitel) are calculated as follows: one tablet for every kilogram.
- Prazitel Plus gives 1 pill for every 10 kg of animal. Not applicable for puppies and dogs smaller than 10 kilograms, as it will not work to calculate the exact dosage.
For prevention, the drug is used 1 time. With treatment, the administration is repeated after 10 days.
Contraindications, side effects
Contraindications:
- up to two weeks of age;
- pregnant dogs;
- with exhaustion;
- postoperative period, recovery from disease;
- within two weeks after birth;
- intolerance to components.
Side effects are very rare and only when exceeding the recommended dose. Most often appears:

- depressed state;
- excessive salivation;
- diarrhea or vomiting.
