Three active components adversely affect parasites:

  • fenbendazole;
  • praziquantel;
  • pyrantela pamoat.

The product also contains excipients and water.

The maximum concentration of basic substances in the body is reached already at the 2nd hour after application. The medicine begins to actively block impulses to the nervous tissue of parasites, to destroy their cell membrane. Due to this, the body of the worms first covers paralysis, which later leads to their death.

Suspension

Even the manufacturer produces a suspension in two variations, which differ in purpose, since they have different compositions. This allows you to use the drug more productively for animals with different body weights.

For puppies, the most safe preparation has been created, it does not contain fenbendazole. A milliliter of medicine contains 30 mg of pyrantel pamoate and praziquantel 3 mg. For dogs of large breeds, the concentration of substances is higher, for example, pyrantel pamoate is already 140 mg, praziquantel 50 mg + 100 mg fenbendazole.

Pharmacological properties

Prazitel for dogs is prescribed for various types of internal parasites. The stage of development does not affect the effect, the drug is effective both against adults and from eggs and larvae. Efficiency is achieved thanks to a competent composition, the main components of which are three active substances. Let's talk about their impact in more detail so that it is clear how this works.

  1. Praziquantel, entering the dog’s body, begins to look for worms. Finding it, it penetrates the cell membrane, begins to destroy it, which leads to high permeability of calcium, and its large accumulation in the body leads to paralysis, then death occurs.
  2. Pyrantela pamoat affects the nervous system of parasites. The substance blocks the transmission of nerve impulses, and this leads to death.
  3. Fenbendazole, which is not in the composition of preparations for babies and cats, is endowed with the ability to act not only on adult parasites, but also on their offspring in the form of eggs and larvae. This component destroys the cellular tubules of the intestines of helminths, and they cease to exist.
