Daniil Andreev: crazy or prophet?
The son of the famous emigrant writer Leonid Andreev was no less talented than his father. From his youth, Daniel discovers in himself the ability to see non-material planes of being, transphysical reality and subtle worlds.
The future poet, writer and seer was born in 1906. From an early age he began to write poetry, and later - and prose. By the age of 35, the legacy of Daniil Andreev was a series of poetic cycles and the novel "Wanderers of the Night."
However, his work was interpreted by the Stalinists as anti-Soviet. According to the laws of that time, not only the author of the novel and his wife Alla Andreeva were arrested, but also many of their circle, to whom Daniel read his works in the evenings. The guardians of the totalitarian regime trampled the fate of the innocently convicted and destroyed almost all of Andreev’s manuscripts, considering them dangerous for the prevailing doctrine of Stalinism.
The writer spent 10 years in prison, which he devoted to the restoration of his works, and most importantly, the creation of the most famous of his books - “Roses of the World”.
Legend of the miraculous birth of a book
Admirers of the writer’s talent are sure of the unearthly origin of the work “The Rose of the World”. Daniil Andreev, a summary of the creation of which will be given below, told in the introduction how he managed to hide the manuscripts from prison guards and searches in an incomprehensible way. He had no doubt that not only people helped him, but also “not people” - the bright essences of the Higher World.
Year after year, the book was born on scraps of paper that could be obtained in prison. When in 1957 the writer came out of the dungeons, his main work was almost ready.
Andreev was already hopelessly ill and knew this. The remaining two years, he put in order his spiritual heritage, poems and manuscript of "Roses of the World." His wife and associate Alla Andreeva kept the records secret until 1991, when the book saw the light of day. The writer's dream came true: he was able to share his insights with the whole world.
Worldview of Daniil Andreev
Each person has his own point of view on what is happening in the world. Outside the usual and generally accepted, the picture that Andreev Daniil saw - "The Rose of the World" went beyond. The whole text is permeated with spiritual insights and conjectures, as if it took in a part of the author’s soul.
He sacredly believed in the eternal confrontation of Good and Evil, but did not exclude the possibility of evolution for dark worlds and essences. His inner gaze was represented by the many worlds, a certain vertical hierarchy of diverse spaces. Each eternal soul, crossing the limits of earthly life, according to his conviction, fell into a world corresponding to the lifetime activities of man.
The author’s understanding of the world was not limited to spiritual postulates: he was convinced of the perniciousness of any dictatorship and the violent nature of any state. All this came to life on the pages of the book “Rose of the World”: Daniil Andreev outlined the summary of his views in his main offspring.
He called the Rose of the World the era of the Golden Age - the inevitably coming (according to some predictions of the Indian brahmanas, already begun) period of freedom and the flourishing of the individual.

The work includes 12 books, which in total can be assessed as a completed literary, philosophical and esoteric work. This is a kind of textbook of alternative understanding of the world, including both theoretical and practical chapters.
- The first two books are, in essence, an introduction and methods of cognition of being.
- The next four books describe the structure of the earthly plane of being, as well as the worlds of light and dark with fabulously sounding names, their hierarchy and laws of existence.
- Books 5 through 11 are an attempt to rethink the main milestones of our history. The texts are, rather, the subjective spiritual views of the author, not related to an alternative story.
- The twelfth book is different from the previous ones, because it is predictive in nature. Here, the author leaves humanity an alternative to choice, clearly showing the most favorable option - spiritual rebirth.
